I was tying up my boots as tight as I could. These were new boots, a similar tough leather as the brown ones, but with new extra soft padding for my feet. It was just myself and Cadeth alone in our room. Baba still hasn't shown up. Normally Cadeth would have left by now for his morning activities. Today was the third day of the week, which he would be starting with meetings. At least, that's what the schedule he showed me had said. I wonder if they were delayed? It's not all bad though, I still had a question which had been itching at the back of my throat, but I'd been too nervous to ask.

I pulled at the knot I'd just finished making and prepared myself to speak the words. Cadeth was standing beside me, just staring. It didn't help.

I whispered, "Do you have a mark too?" As soon as the words came out, I wish I hadn't let them. He probably found it weird I cared about such a thing. It'd just been bothering me though. I glanced up at his face. He still just kept looking at me. When our eyes met, his gaze got more intense. I watched his lips as he gave a short answer.

"I do."

I blurted out, "Why haven't I seen it?"

Still keeping his eyes strictly on me, he pointed down and slightly to the right. His finger resting on his hip against where part of the V line would be, if his clothes hadn't been covering it. As I looked down in this direction, I also accidently glanced toward the center where other... parts would be. I could feel my face burning as I tore my eyes away as fast as possible. I really didn't mean to look there. Maybe he didn't notice?

I avert my gaze toward his face and see that he has a small smile spread across his face.

He teases, "I'd have to remove my pants. I can if you'd like..." His hand moves toward touching the edge of the pants.

I stammer, "I-I'm good." Turning away with excellent speed, just in case. We were quiet for a moment. I pressed my shoes against the floor, pretending to check the comfort of the fit. He taps on my shoulder. Then drops a thick envelope in my lap.

"Give this to my brother. Since you're going to the bakery anyways." I shoot a look at him. Surprised.

"How did you know?" This must be why he stayed here instead of Baba coming in.

"Rei will accompany you." Why did I bother asking? He probably found out from Baba.

I wasn't sure how he felt of his brother, so I didn't want to tell him if he didn't ask. I had assumed he'd find out after a guard followed me there anyways. Though based on his current reaction, I guess it wasn't such a big deal.

Cadeth waved goodbye, then left. I got up and headed out the door as well.
