"Truly cursed?"
"Worry not, a Kynsian wolf can never kill..."
"Nor show its form"
"What use is she to the King then?"
"None."
"Yet he favors her?!"
"Maybe you're missing something? Judging a book by its co-"
"Shut up human!"
"He will kill us all-"
I awake to the sound of hushed whispers and near-blinding light. My eyes adjust quickly with minimal effort. All around me is a pale colored room with little decoration.
The floors are cold to the touch of my bare feet. The ivory tint of the hard material emphasizing its chill. My eyes dash around wildly taking in more of my surroundings.
To my left, a few paces away, is an open bathroom. Zero privacy. Just a toilet, a sink, and a tub with a shower head and no curtain. No walls either. All of the items look to be made of the rainbow glass, they sparkled slightly which brought attention to them even more.
I tilted my head further until I could see just behind me. There a heavy looking wood bed hung off the wall. A single blanket, no mattress, laid on it. More rainbow glass, this time as chains. I feel slow to admit this, but I just now realized that this glass might actually be used as a sort of weakening substance. I don't know why it would be, but it does seem to be.
As I was thinking, a strong stinging sensation emanated from my face. When in reaction I tried to move, my wrists and ankles started to burn too. Even my fingers felt hot like they were being pricked by flames. My gaze wandered back to myself. I was in some sort of chair that seemed to be adhered to the floor. Wearing some thin dark maroon material, loosely shaped as a dress. There were more rainbow glass chains, but they were part of the chair. Like half circles, connecting across each of the joints in my hands, my wrists, and my ankles. I could not move a finger without extreme pain forcing it back in place.
"Her face is so burned." More hushed whispers to my right said.
"Healing so slow." I turned to the source. My eyes passing another figure in front of me, before focusing on them.
A few maids standing in nervous tension. One with shorter hair and skin even paler than mine. Another with blue eyes that shimmered like the sea, and a third one with very dark skin that had a slight purple hue to it, and a constant blue aura tinged with yellow. All of their eyes, lost their focus of me and instead stared on at the figure I had ignored.
Alpha Everett.
He was the last thing I wanted to see. To notice. I could already feel his eyes boring at me though.
My head shot forward as I returned a deep stare to counter his angry one. I wasn't too shocked at what I saw. Standing about a meter in front of me, his disheveled hair matched with his disheveled clothes. No longer in any formal attire, he wore just an undershirt and loose pants. His hands were covered in blood and there were still healing cuts along his face, neck, and arms. As if he'd fought before arriving here. His jaw looks tense as he continues to stare at me.
He speaks through gritted teeth, "You awoke earlier than expected. What shall I do?" A frown makes its way on his lips. A simple frown, the edges just barely curved downward. My own face switched to a more emotionless state. Trying not to show the pain I was in on my expression. I just came off most likely looking either as if I was hiding shock or couldn't care less. A black aura surrounded him from behind. So dark, it was almost like a shadow in this shadowless room. His frown disappeared. He jested as he stepped closer.
"Oh what shall I do..."
