There was a river wildly moving, desperate to reach whatever large body of water it led to. The sky was cloudy but no rain fell. A bright sun stayed hidden amongst the clouds. I assumed the air must of have been cold, as each heavy breath from Dr. Engel was visible.
Dr. Engel still had both eyes, focused on the ground near the large wolf beside him. Brown eyes, with a pigment like copper. They shimmered that way too as he held in what was most likely tears. To my surprise, his hair was a much more bland color, also combed and cut in such a way as to hide the curls. His skin looked as if it hadn't been exposed to the sun in a while, dull and clammy. Yet there was a youthfulness to him I'd never seen before. Even if he looked the same age, his eyes were not as tired and his body seemed far more muscular. He was crouched over a boy who was soaking wet from head to toe, with closed eyes and limp fingers. Most likely dead or dying. The boy had brown hair and pale skin, possibly even paler than it normally would be because of the boy's current state.
Still Dr. Engel persisted in pressing into the boy's chest, pushing up and down, doing chest compressions. He was not doing mouth to mouth though, just the compressions. The ring on his finger, which looked similar to what had been pressed against my face, shown on his hand. A flash of light reflecting on it with each push down. The wolf growled at him viciously but he ignored it, just continuing to try and save the boy's life.
The large wolf had deep purple eyes, but fur the color of the earth and thicker than the coat I remembered on Cadeth. There were hints of grey and ivory as well speckled throughout. Indicating this wolf was older. It did not take away the obvious authority surrounding it though. Nor did it lessen the effect of its large size, big enough it could probably have killed the doctor with a simple swipe of its paw. It did nothing but growl though, and sometimes try to step forward to get Dr. Engel to move away from the boy. As it did so, droplets of water on its fur would shake off and fall to the ground.
The wolf suddenly commanded, "I drowned him for a reason. Leave him to die!" He lashed his paw out at the doctor, trying to push him away, but the doctor just pushed back. Continuing to do the compressions. The doctor's aura once the usual white, but now covered in various colors, a mix of strong emotions. Looking like a rainbow surrounded him.
He sneered at the wolf, yelling back, "He is but a child! He has done no wrong! You will not stop me from saving him, as a doctor I must!" After a moment the boy coughed loudly, spitting out water. Dr. Engel stood up and stepped back. Now just only slightly shorter than the wolf. The boy then passed out on the grass. The wolf lunged at Dr. Engel. Dropping him to the ground. Dr. Engel punched the wolf, but his eyes were wide in shock at the attack. Suddenly the wolf raised his paw up and slashed it down.
Gauging the doctor's eye out. As the doctor screamed the wolf spoke.
"It's too late now. His fate is irreversible because of you doctor!" The doctor, moved his hands to cover his face, but blood just poured through his fingers as well. The boy hadn't moved an inch, but even passed out, his light breathing was visible. The wolf looked back at the boy, then at the doctor. He then turned human.
An older carbon copy image of Cadeth, but this was most definitely not him. This man had a different aura about him. His cheekbones were more bold and his eyes did not hold the same intensity. They were softer, more sad. In one of his hands he held the rainbow stone, round as a perfect sphere, the same size as the doctor's eye had been. With his other hand he pulled Doctor Engel's arms up and away, into the ground. The doctor still shocked, attempted to lurch and wriggle out of his grip, away to freedom, but it was of no use.
The man on top of the doctor had started to cry now. Tears falling and landing on the doctor at a rapid pace.
He whispered, "See what you have done now Doctor." He shoved the stone into the doctor's eye socket. More screaming ensued. The stone shimmered and glowed, absorbing some of the blood, for just a moment before turning back into its simple blander rainbow design. The man moved off of Doctor Engel, and turned back into a wolf. Waiting. The doctor wouldn't stop screaming, he turned on his side, into fetal position. Words spilling out from his tongue.
"My daughter, my family, everyone! Everyone is dead! No!! What have I done?! What have I-" Doctor Engel was crying now from his one eye. Sobbing. He kept repeating the questions over and over.
'What have I done?! Why did I save him?'
How could Adolf do this?!!
My vision became crowded with a bright light, and suddenly I was back with Dr. Chibin. He handed me the flask again.
I opened it without question.
