Harry's POV:

We'd just finished searching through Hogsmeade and not a single person had seen Draco. Dammit Draco, where could you be? Why oh why did you run away? I can't, for the life of me, figure out why you would run. It was getting darker and I decided that we would stop in Diagon Alley overnight while we searched.

"Alright Hermione and Ron, let's get to Diagon Alley. It's getting dark so we'll stop overnight." My voice carried across the wind. "But don't let the dark stop you from searching. Use Lumos if you have to." I swept some hair from my eyes as Ron and Hermione both called out replies. Seconds later, both of them had bright tipped wands that lit up a circle around them.

"If anything look unusual, or even if you see anything, give a shout." I lip up my own wand with Lumos and kept and switched my glances between the ground and the sky. We traveled through a few villages on the way but didn't see anything.

There were a few fresh tracks in the snow every now and then. And by the time we made it to Diagon Alley, I would say it was just after 9. "Ron and Hermione, you go find a room that we can stay in for the night. I'll be up in a little while, I'm going to Madame Milkins." We landed our broom on the ground and the two went the other way.

I ambled through the door as the overhead bell rang. Madame Milkins was at the counter chatting to a customer when she looked up as she heard the bell. Her eyes lit up as she saw me come in. "Ah, Harry!" She motioned me forward and I slid into a stool.

"How are you? Haven't seen you since the year started." Madame Milkins chuckled lightly, laughing at her own joke of how she only sees the students during the new year. "Speaking of which, what are you doing here? It is a bit peculiar since it's not the new year yet." I tapped my fingers along the counter and waited until she finished speaking.

"Well actually, Madame Milkins, I'm looking for someone. And I'm wondering if you've possibly seen that person today?" She peered over her glasses and looked both ways before leaning closer. "Are you talking about the young Draco Malfoy?" She questioned and I nodded in eager. "We're searching for him. He's been on the run since this afternoon and I have to find him." Madame Milkins eyes shined in excitement.

"Ooh, a tail chasing journey. But yes, I did see him today. He stopped in this afternoon at about half 6. I was eyeing him off curiously since he never comes in here." Bingo, got a lead. "Did he order something? Do you have any idea where he might have gone?" I quivered in anticipation. Draco, please be nearby. I need you. I want you. I have to have you.

"Well, he only ordered some warm milk and beef stew. Before he left, I asked him what he was doing here and he just made some noises. So I asked him if he was staying overnight in Diagon Alley. And guess what, you're in luck because he is." She motioned that she'll be back as she went to serve up a customer.

I sat there and took in the information. Merlin! Draco is in Diagon Alley. I'm right on his tail. This is excellent. I didn't expect to find him so soon. I'm so glad that I stopped in at Madame Milkins. She came back and I had one last question for her. "Do you know where Draco is staying tonight?" My leg was bouncing unconsciously.

"Sorry Harry. Can't help you there. Will that be all?" I nodded, thankful for her information and help. As I left, I threw a bye over my shoulder. So Draco is staying in one of the many hotels here in Diagon Alley. But which one? I threw a frustrated foot onto the ground and stomped.

I hunched my shoulders and shoved my hands into my overcoat pockets. The wind whipped at my face and down my neck. I tucked the scarf in closer to my neck as I trudged through the light snow. It was closing in on 10 now and I decided to walk up the Alley in search of Ron. Hermione would've sent him to stand by the entrance of the hotel we were staying in.
