The plane ride was uneventful. He didn't speak to me because he wasn't in the best of moods considering he had to leave his precious company for a whole two weeks without prior preparations and he had to pack till the wee hours of the morning as he tried sorting out work related issues. He hadn't had a wink of sleep even on the plane. I was beginning to doubt the wisdom of my decision to actually go because I just realised, other than Carrie and him, I didn't know anyone that was going to be there. I would have no allies or familiar face to cheer me on or take my side yet I was going to be stuck , well not stuck considering I could always take a boat to the main island ,but still, trapped on an island with his family and their close friends. Not the smartest move on my part, but this was the only way that I could think of that would give me back my life.My father may have a point.Sounds stupid, but seduction was my only weapon against him. Funny how I don't know the first thing about it but the numerous lace teddies Ellie had got me as a wedding gift could come in handy. The plan was you can look but you can't touch. I wish I could be able to follow through with it considering , despite the storm he had thrown me into, I still had fellings for him but I wasn't going to show them .No , not even with a gun pointed at my head.It hurt to know that after connecting with him he was just using me. Any rational person would despise him and I did, but I also felt heart broken and a part of me wanted to be with him. Sometmes I wish I was a vampire. Cold, detached with the ability to turn my feelings on and off and hot. Most of the vampires I'd seen were smoking hot including this one infront of me murdering a perfectly innocent woman.
"We're landing put your seatbelt on" He said to me as he removed the papers from his lap to fasten his seatbelt. He was two seats across me and hadn't even looked my way when he said that. I looked out the window to see the blue waters fast approaching as we descended onto a narrow tarmac. The sands surrounding the island were nearlly white and the waters were the bluest I had ever seen. The palm trees were tall and really green and there was a large mansion at the centre of the island. This is the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
The seatbelt light went off as we came to a halt. I gathered my luggage which was two suitcases and a duffel bag. He only had one suitcase and one duffel bag. He alighted before me and started walking while I struggled to remove my suitcase from the steps.
"Could you give me a hand?" I asked seeing he had stopped walking and was typing something on his phone waiting for me.
He looked up his aviators glinting in the sun before smiling at me."No , I'm good, love"' he said returning his attention back down to his phone.
I was in shock, my eyes wide and mouth open. Luckily the pilot had come out and he climbed the steps and took both suitcases and set them down for me on the tarmac.
"Thank you" I said giving him a grateful smile. He smiled back before retreating back to the plane.
I started dragging the suitcases with the duffel bag on top of one of them . Blasted things were so heavy.I reached him and put on my sunglasses. He looked up and arched a brow.
"Took you long enough, come on" He said putting his phone away before starting to drag his suitcase ahead of me to a car parked in a small garage a few feet from us.
What was his problem?
I was swaeting by the time I reached the car, where he was comfortably seated inside still on his bloody phone. I struggled to lift my suitcases into the trunk which took out all the energy in me. When I finally managed and got into the passenger seat. He looked up at me a smirk on his face.
"Having fun yet?"
"Drive" I snarled giving him the stink eye, which I doubt he got since I was still wearing my sun glasses. He put his phone away and started the car driving to a narrow two way traffic tarmac road. This place was the stuff of wallpapers and photoshoots. It was so plush and green with the bluest of waters that you could see through and white sands with a hint of bronze. I would never leave here if I lived here. He pulled up to the white mansion like beach house. There was some laughing and noise when he stopped the car. There were two males and three girls at the front porch. The men were dragging what I'm guessing were the ladys luggage considering the bright colours the luggage was sporting.
