orange sun sinks through a sky
pale and cloudless, spotless
the water mirrors its dull sleepy ache
the rays ricocheting off the water's skin
i do not capture it in a camera.
like you.
rather: write it as best i can
remember your silhouettes in the waves
and the sun drifting drifting
around the world
let's chase it why don't we?
let's run run run, never sleep never get tired
remember this moment:
water frothing splashing up the wall
on our skin, our faces,
dripping through your hair
soaking right through my bones
and i'm cold, i'm freezing
but i don't care, bare foot
sand sinks between my toes-
grit of tarmac on bare feet walkers in the dark
the scent of greasy chip shops
and briny air ocean breeze,
our hair wavering tangling
and laugh,
smiles.
it's dark
we swim
watch the sun go down
day passes into night and I feel:
peace.
