prom queen disaster scene
cars crashing on the corners all ways
spangled sky glitters
in evening dreamtime.
short lived beauty of a flower in bloom (even the perennial
is ugly for a time) i'm pretty ugly,
terribly brilliant in that mingling of moon and sun, north and east
cold like a february sun and
queen of disaster:
shattered dreams are my forte
watching the sinking ship in the bay
and how it plays on, i'll move with it i'll follow the river wherever
i can. girls don't like flowers
in bouquets
with their petals dropping
and leaves leaving
in kitchen table vases.
