Peter Rabbit and Squirrel Nutkin,
reminiscences of tales of childhood,
and slowly wasting away in our forgetful stupors
dripping off the windowsills of my mind's mansion
I am a ruler, I am a dragon of dreamers
I am queen, empress, lady of my mansion
forget-me-not children (procrastinators who were ever
waiting for a revolution which they were too lazy to begin in the beginning)
My sleepy ghost sister: shadows me, echoes me, heart
beats battering my temples. Soft little sleepy ghost sister
drags her feet, droops her eyes. And yawns an empty mouth
delicate thing. She walks through the empty rooms of
the mansion I dreamt up (she likes the pillow room best).
Half-hearted resolutions, sting, electrocutions on the fencing
and barbed wire ripping clothes and skin,
my mind fidgets restlessly within my body, I'm just tired.
