You were like black ice, there yet unseen
waiting to sweep me off my feet
when I so carelessly wandered by you
You appeared seemingly from nowhere
but you had always been plain in sight
if only I had looked, really looked.
And when we touched, it was too late
My feet were taken from below me
and I fell
Down, down so that my face smashed to yours
and the ground ripped my skin
my head was hit.
You intoxicated my brain
and even as I picked myself back up
you stayed with me, inside me
To twist my thoughts black
Till all I saw around me
was a world of black ice
Pain
Oblivion
Fear
Where all I could do was fall and fall,
hit my head again and again
Pick myself up again and again
and fall again and again.
