As they entered the home, Thorin turned to Samantha. "Are you ready to hear some dwarven music?" asks the dwarf. "I would love to listen to your music. I always been interested in many different cultures, and listening to music from different places fascinates me." Samantha replied. "Follow me." said Thorin.  Thorin lead Samantha into the living room where the other dwarves had gathered.  Judith and Merrilee are there too, sitting with Fili and Kili, whom already had their fiddles in hand. Samantha took her seat next to Thorin and Balin. Samantha noticed all the dwarves had their instruments in position. She also noticed Balin bringing over Thorin an object that was covered in green silk cloth.  To her surprise, when Thorin removed the cloth, there stood a beautiful golden harp in front of him. Samantha smiled, and felt amazed at the thought of this tough dwarf and his large hands playing such a beautiful and delicate instrument. Thorin picked up the harp, placing it in his lap, pulling it close to his shoulder and heart. Suddenly Thorin struck it, and the music began.

"Wow, these guys should start a band!" Judith whispered to Merrilee.  Fili and Kili overheard the girls, and they looked at the twins, grinning. "I think I'm getting turned on. Just look at those handsome young dwarves playing their fiddles." said Merrilee loudly. "Shhh! They'll hear us! Don't let them know that you're getting turned on! They'll suspect!" said Judith. "Too late! We heard ya!" grinned Kili.   After playing instrumentally for a little while, Thorin started to sing, shortly followed by the other dwarves:

Far over the misty mountains cold

To dungeons deep and caverns old

we must away ere break of day

to find our long forgotten gold

The pines were roaring on the height

The winds were moaning in the night

The fire is red, it flaming spread

The trees like torches, blazed with light.

When Thorin struck a final chord on the harp, the song ended.  "Good night Aunt Sam! See you in the morning light!" called out Judith and Merrilee. "Good night girls! Don't let the bed bugs bite!" said Samantha. "Bilbo better not have bed bugs." said Fili. "Its just an expression, Fili! Sheesh! Good night, sweety!" said Judith.  "Did you hear that, Kee? Miss Judith called me 'sweety'!" grinned Fili.  After everyone went to bed, Judith remained awake, sitting in the dark, working on some sewing. She felt happy that she remembered her sewing kit.  Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to mend any clothing needed for herself and her girls. But she realized, she wasn't the only one who is still awake.

"Miss Williams, there is no need for you to sit in the dark alone. Come and join me by the fire." said a deep voice ahead of her.  Samantha looked up, and she saw Thorin sitting by the fire place on the floor cross legged, smoking his pipe. Samantha put her sewing kit away, and she moved over to where Thorin is sititng. Samantha sat down next to Thorin. "Can't sleep?" asked the dwarf. "No. I always could never sleep when I'm in new places. You sing and play the harp very beautifully, Thorin!" said Samantha.  Thorin smiled. "Thank you, Sam. Sam, I got a question." said Thorin. "Yes?" said Samantha. :"What would you say that once we reclaim Erebor, if you and your nieces live with me and my family in Erebor?" asked Thorin. "Oh, Thorin! We would, but we can't." said Samantha. "Sam. You know you are stuck here! You won't be able to return to your world. You have died in your world. Please, Sam. Accept my offer." said Thorin.  Samantha smiled  "I accept your offer." said Samantha.

Suddenly, to Samantha's surprise, without saying a word, Thorin cupped Samantha's chin gently with his large hands. Then he leaned towards her, kissing her gently on the lips, slowly and passionately.  Samantha felt stunned from the kiss. The kiss came quite unexpectedly.  "You are beautiful, Sam. I'm glad I've met you!" said Thorin. "I'm glad I met you too, Thorin!" said Sam softly.
