38~ His pain

Cabir is seen driving around the area looking for manik hopelessy while on the other side nandini is seen getting restless and anxious sensing something is wrong.
9pm
Nandini is seen frantically walking up and down the living room impatiently while mukti, navya and chachi are trying to calm her down.
Suddenly cabir enters. Nandini looks up and runs to him.
N- cabir... manik!! She manages to say
N- manik kahan hai?
Cabir looks at her helplessly.. nandini walks behind cabir and looks outside the door and in the garden calling out manik's name. She gets no response so she walks back panicking.
N- cabir bolo na... where's manik? Woh tumare saath nahi aya? Usne mujhe ek baar bhi call nahi kiya.. where is he?!! She yelled at him in agony.
Mukti looked at cabir and realised something was wrong she went and held nandini's shoulders firmly to calm her down.
Mu- nandini relax hum hai na...
Mu- cabir... manik kahan hai?
C- pata nahi... he was there with me this morning par uske baad pata nahi kahan gaya i looked everywhere possible. I can't find him... uska phone bhi mere paas hai... i don't know wh
Nandini moved back in shock hearing that manik was missing all this while. She thought of the worst possibilities. The poor soul had already gone through so much, her only hope of becoming her old self again was manik. She recalled her earlier moments with manik in the morning... how he said he would come back to her soon. Their kiss, his smile, his concern, his care, his love......Nandini fell to the ground hopelessly, comfusion, despair, anger, pain and worry overtook her mind....and the others were alerted by this bent down to handle her.
N- manik.. is missing... woh nahi hai... chod kar chala gaya mujhe... she said staring blankly with tears streaming down her face non stop.
Navya rushed to her and hugged her tightly.
Na- aisa kuch nahi hai nandu, hum manik ko dhoond lenge.
Everyone had tears in her eyes seeing nandini's condition. They silently prayed to god to end all their pain and reunite manan once and for all.
After a few minutes nandini jerked navya away and got up instantly.
N- cabir... i know where manik could be.... please mujhe le chaloge?  She asked holding cabir's hand tightly.
Cabir nodded positively.
Mu- i'll also come...
Na- main bhi? Navya asked looking at cabir and he nodded smiling slightly at her.
Nandini rushed to the car and sat in the front seat while mukti & navya got in the back. Cabir drove the car to where nandini had instructed him to.
They reached a hillside area.... the same hillside area where manik had taken nandini after her confession. Someone was standing by the edge of the cliff looking down into the wilderness. Nandini touched the glass window of the car crying and smiling at the same time realising it was manik... she then realised he was too close to falling and harshly opened the door and ran to manik the other got out of the car right after moving towards manan.
Nandini ran and pulled manik back making him fall to the ground along with her on top of him.
N- manik..... she said his name out in a crying tone...
manik looked at nandini in shock.... as though after ages he had gotten back his senses... his eyes were red and his hair was messed up... his face was full of dried tears. The boy looked broken. Nandini realised their position and got up looking at manik in anger. Manik got up soon after...
THUUUDDDHH!
He got the hardest slap he had ever gotten from anyone from none other than nandini.
Manik kept his palm of his face trying to come into terms with what just happened.
N- where were you all this time?!!!! Tum pata bhi hai meri kya halat hui thi?! I almost died manik!!! She yelled at him. The others stayed put in their places and let the little monster do her thing.
N- how could you manik??? Aisa kya hua ki tum mujhe bina bataya chale gaye?! You walked away without even taking your phone... kitni baar tumhe call ki.... do you even know what I was going through?! Pura din wait kiya maine tumare liye because i trusted you.... i believed ki you would come back to me as soon as you could par tum!  Tum yahan agaye.... bina kisi ko kuch bole... why manik why?! She yelled holding his collars.
Manik looked at her painfully.
N- fine tumhe mujhse door jana hai na? Then go ... chale jao mujhe chod ke....leave me to die here... she said crying badly
Nandini pushed him away and started to walk away when someone held her hand back firmly. She turned around and it was manik.... looking down crying.
M- i'm sorry... i'm sorry... please don't leave me please mujhe hate mat karo....please i didn't do it purposely... maine jaan poochke nahi kiya... i promise you... i'm sorry... he kept repeating himself again and again. Nandini understood he was deepy affected by something and calmed down. She walked upto him and held his face between her palms and brought it up. Manik yet did not stop chanting that he was innocent and that he was sorry.
N- shhhhhh... manik... bas...i know... tumne jaan pooch ke nahi kiya... i believe you... i trust you...
M- you do? He asked suddenly looking at her like a child.
Nandini nodded bringing his face close to hers.
M- then you won't leave me right? You won't hate me hai na?
Nandini was confused with his behavior but irregardless of it she wiped his tears away and kissed his forehead and both his eyes.
N- kabhi nahi... main hoon na... i'm always there with you... main tumhe kabhi hate nahi kar sakti manik... i love you the most. Shhh...
she hugged him tightly and rubbed his back to calm him down.
Manik reciprocated hugging her back as tight as he could as though if he didn't she'd disappear.
M- nandini i have no one else... please mat jao mujhe chod ke... please... i will die... he cries out.
Cabir, mukti and navya looks on confused.
Mu- cabir aisa lya hua manik ko ki woh aise behave kar raha hai?
C- i have no idea mukti... hum aaj subah aryaman se milne gaye the.... and right after that manik went missing..,.
Na- iska jawab sirf manik de sakta hai...
C- haan... but now he needs nandini... let's get them home chalo..
They walked upto manan who was still hugging each other.
C- guys ghar chale ab? Manik tu thak gaya hoga na...
nandini broke the hug with much difficulty and nodded at cabir. However manik didn't respond he didn't even look at cabir. He was staring down blankly. Nandini got super worried by his behaviour but kept silent to act brave for him.
N- manik... chale? She said holding his hand.
Manik nodded slightly. She smiles at him and takes him to the car. The whole ride home manik stays silent not responding to anyone and just looking out of the window. It had started to rain outside and it reminded him of an unfortunate but terrifying memory.
