49~ Inseparable

Nandini bought manik home with much difficulty. she dragged him by his shoulder to the bedroom and made him lie on the bed. Like a dutiful wife she removed his shoes and socks and blazer. She went in to take a shower. Somehow the cold water was curing the fire burning inside her. She closed her eyes and recalled everything manik had said to her. Nandini cried her heart out in the shower.
A while later she got out and changed into her pjs. She came and laid down next to manik caressing his hair to which he smiled in his sleep. He held her hand in his sleep and held it close to his heart. She teared up thinking of their earlier moments and took her hand away and turned around and slept off after a long time.
Next morning,
Manik woke up to a splitting headache he closed his eyes yet again and leaned against the backboard of the bed and recalled what had happened last night slowly. What he had said to nandini... the scene he created.. everythig. He opened his eyes and turned to nandini's side of the bed and found it empty. He got really worried and got out of bed and rushed downstairs and looked around for her all around the house but didn't find her. All of the worst things were crossing his mind. He ran back upstairs to see if her clothes and things were still there... whether she had left the house... left him...he got into the bedroom and then for the first time noticed black coffee and a note kept next to it. He picked up the note and it was obviously from nandini.
" manik, this will help with your hangover... i haven't left the house i've just gone out to buy groceries...take a shower and neeche jao breakfast rakha hai tumare liye" manik smiled and kissed the note. He drank the black coffee and went in took a shower and went downstairs. Nandini walked in just then. Manik saw her and ran to her and hugged the life out of her.
M- nandini! Thankgod tum yahan ho... he held her cheeks and kissed her forehead while nandini stayed silent.
N- manik.. she said moving him away and ignorantly walking towards the dining table.
N- you haven't had your breakfast... khaa lo warna you'll feel more sick.
M- nandini.. manik said pulling her towards him making her back hit his broad chest.
M- i know tum naraz ho... he said kissing her shoulder.
Nandini closed her eyes and let a tear out.
Manik held her hand and brought it up and kissed the back of her fingers
M- i'm sorry jaan... kal neyonika took over my mind... mujhe khud nahi pata how i got that angry.... i'm so sorry.. please mujhe maaf kardo?
Nandini pushed him back with all the force and turned around looking angry.
N- enough manik... don't blame anyone else for what you did. You can only blame yourself! Manik i understand your anger and hatred towards her but you can't let that overpower you! Kal the monster i saw in your eyes ... i hated it... maine bohot koshish ki manik to let that out of my mind par tumara woh chehra... i can't forget... i can't forget how humiliated i felt yesterday... she said crying.
Manik teared up and got close to her to hold her face but nandini put her hand forward sternly.
N- manik please... i need space... i need time to get over this... i'm going to stay with ams for a while...jis pal tumhe lage you can move on from your broken past and live for us... us din ana mere paas.... tab tak please let me be.
Manik didn't say anything further. He had understood what he had done.... how much he had hurt nandini... he let her go broken heartedly.

Nandini got to her chacha chachi's house and cleared her face and hugged chachi and rishab tightly.
Chachi- nandu! Humne tumhe kitna miss kiya... kaisi hai?
N- main theek hoon chachi... she said slightly smiling.
R- akka finally aaj pura din aap mere saath spend karenge...
Nandini smiled and nodded.
Suddenly ams came down the stairs and looked at nandini smiling. Nandini saw her and teared up slightly which didn't go unnoticed by ams. Nandini went up to ams and hugged her tightly and let out a few tears. Ams caressed her hair worriedly. She managed to wiped her tears away in time while breaking the hug.
Ams- nandu tu theek hai na?
N- hmmm... nandini said smiling slightly
Ams- manik kahan hai?
Chachi- oh haan! Main tujhse poochne hi wali thi... manik saath nahi aya?
Nandini nodded negatively.
N- woh use kuch kaam tha chachi..
R- i miss rockstar but acha hai... akka come i have to show you my new drawings.. he said excitedly.
Nandini smiled.
Chachi- haan jao nandu main tumare liye kuch special banati hoon.
Nandini is seen in rishab's room while he was talking to her and showing her drawings but her mind was elsewhere... she wasn't smiling. Ams walked near the door and observed nandini being at dismay.
Ams- nandini! She said out.
N- ji ams she said startled.
Ams- mere saath chalo... mujhe tujhse kuch baat karni hai...
nandini nodded nervously and walked out with ams.
Ams took nandini to her room and made her sit on the bed. She held her hand and asked her
Ams- nandu... tu jabse yahan ayi hai tabse koi koi si lag rahi hai... what happened kanna? Koi baat hai jo tum mujhse share nahi kar rahi ho? Manik ke saath sab theek hai na?
Nandini couldn't hold it any longer she burst out into tears
N- ams.... kal.... nandini continued tellings ams everything that had happened the previous night.
Ams wiped nandini's tears and held her chin.
Ams- nandu bas itni si baat pe itna ro rahi ho?
Ams- kanna manik ka state of mind main samaj sakti hoon... mana ki usne bohot galat kiya par tumhe pata hai nandu... tumara woh kidnap neyonika ne karwaya tha.... us waqt manik ke aankhon woh pain woh dard dekha main of losing you. Bachpan mein bhi jab woh ghar ata tha uski udasi dekh sakti thi main... jab woh tumhe aur tumari amma ko saath dekhta tha.... bachpan se usne akelepan dekha hai nandu... jin logon se use kabhi pyaar nhi mila... aur sirf dhoka mila unke liye nafrat ke alawa aur kya hoga uske dil mein?
Nandini looked up at ams understanding what she said.
Ams- Woh sirf over protective hai tumare liye nandu aur use hona bhi chahiye nandu tumare alawa aur koi nahi hai uska.... you are his whole world nandini... apna gussa apna pain tumare saath share nahi karega toh aur kis pe karega? Aur tum use akele chod ke yahan agayi? You gave up on him so easily?
Nandini cried feeling bad.
Ams- you have to be his strength nandu.... uska saath do... uski mind ko badalna hai toh sirf apne pyaar se kar paogi... gusse se nahi..
nandini nodded and hugged ams tightly.

They came downstairs.
Chachi- nandu... khana ready hai beta chalo...
N- nahi chachi mujhe ghar jana hai.. woh kuch kaam yaad agaya...
chachi- acha theek hai agli baar manik ko bhi saath lana.
Nandini nodded smiling
R- akka mujhe aap ko kuch dena hai!
Rishab gives her a drawing of nandini's family with manik as well.
R- akka yeh rockstar ke liye hai! Dekho woh bhi hamare family ka hissa hai!
Nandini teared up and hugged rishab smiling.
N- he will love it! She said
Nandini hugged everyone and left.

A while later

She entered her and manik's house. It was completely quiet. The servant suddenly came upto her and said
Servant- nandini bhabhi bhaiya pure din kamre se bahar nahi Nikle hai ... na khana khaya na koi awaz aa rahi hai... darwaza bhi locked hai. Maine bohot baar knock kiya par unho ne khola nahi..aapko call bhi kiya tha par aapne nahi uthaya.
Nandini felt mortified! She ran upto their room and knocked on the door.
N- manik! She called out.
Here inside their room... manik was crawled up in the corner of the room sweating. He looked messy ... he had dried tears on his cheeks and he was just staring into nothing. He hand was bleeding as though he had punched a wall.
Nandini banged on the door multiple times.
N- manik darwaza kholo!!! Kahan ho tum? What are you doing?
Manik felt his heart beat again upon hearing he walked up towards the door weakly and opened it.
Nandini looked at him and felt the blood in her veins dry. Manik looked disheveled. Manik saw her and smiled but soon felt all his senses go away. He fell on nandini's shoulder. Manik had fainted. Nandini felt manik's face and shook him to regain his senses.
N- manik! She cried out.
The servant bought water and nandini sprinkled it on manik's face but he didn't get back into his senses. Nandini called the doctor.

A while later.
Manik is seen lying on the bed with the doctor doing his final check up.
Doctor- don't worry zyaada stress lene ke wajeh se he has gotten a high fever. He needs to take rest and stay happy. Maine kuch medicines likha hai but Most of these battles are mentally cured these days.
Nandini nodded and thanked the doctor.

She sat next to manik and caressed his face crying. She mentally blamed herself for his condition.
Manik slowly opened his eyes and looked at nandini.
He looked away tearing up.
M- nandini i'm okay tum aram karlo he said plainly.
Nandini cried and hugged him.
N- kyun karte ho tum aise? Maine tumhe kuch ghanto ke liye choda aur tumne yeh halat kardiya apna?
M- i'm fine nandini waise bhi abse i need to learn to take care of myself ownself... pehle iski aadat thi but tumare ane ke baad phornse bigad gaya.
Nandini looked up at manik.
N- manik don't say that... main humesha tumare saath hoon. I'm sorry maine itna overreact kiya... but manik we need each other...
M- tumhe space chahiye tha na? Take it nandini waise bhi main tumhe pain ke alawa kuch aur nahi de sakta.... you have always had to suffer because of me.
N- enough manik... don't say a word more.... tumne mujhe sirf pyaar kiya hai all these years... you gave me loyalty... you gave me all of you... aur mujhe kabhi iske aage kuch nahi chahiye tha... manik i want you in my life... i need you in my life... more than anything else...
nandini held manik's face and got closer to him.
She placed her lips on his and chewed his lips. It was a kiss of love. Manik wasn't responding initially.
N- manik please let go mere liye? Hamare liye? I need you... we need each other...
manik held nandini's waist tightly and pulled her closer. He turned her around making her under him and kissed her harshly taking out all his insecurites and pain through her. She kissed him back pouring all her love to him. They made out for ages before they lost their breath. Manik moved down to the neck and sucks upon her skin leaving marks behind... and then down to the valley between her breasts and kissed her there. He spread his love to all of her upper body before moving down while nandini moaned senselessly. Nandini turned manik around and got on top of him. She kissed his forhead, cheeks, nose and his lips... she moved down to his neck and gave him love bites there... she left a trail of kisses all the way down his chest and gave his all the pleasure he was craving. Manik moaned and instantly turned her around and entered her deeply. Nandini cried in pain and hugged manik. He readjusted himself and kept moving. Pain turned into pleasure and angst turned into love... pure love.
The made love the whole night and lied down in each other's embrace tired and at peace. Nandini is seen doodling a heart on manik's chest while he looks at her slightly smiling and kisses her hair. She hugs him tightly.
N- i love you... she said smiling with her eyes closed snuggling into him more.
M- i love you more... i'm sorry jaan... for...
N- shhhh she says placing her finger no more sorrys'
It's all in the past now.
Manik smiled and kissed her nose. They drifted to sleep in each other's protective embrace.
