33~ The truth part 2

Manik kissed nandini's photo and walked back to cabir.
C- manik what's the plan of action?
M- the doctor... he said looking straight in anger.

That evening manik and cabir reach the doctor's house. The doctor opens the door and is shocked seeing manik. He welcomes him in irregardless.
Doc- manik! Tum yahan kya kar kar raheho?
M- Hi... may we come in? He said sweetly.
Doc- uh sure sure... come...
They get themselves settled down in the living room. The doctor's wife brings them tea and manik smiles and accepts it. The doctor looks at them nervously.
Doc- so manik how have you been?
M- how can i be doctor? I just lost the love of my life... he says sarcastically.
Doc- i know it can be difficult manik... but don't worry things heal with time...
M- but pata hai... doctor i always thought there would be a way to save her... her case never seemed impossible to me... it's like jaan puch ke kisi ne uske saath...
The doctor coughs out hearing this...
M- arey arey.... please take care doctor uncle... i'm sure you don't want to get yourself on a hospital bed... manik said sarcastically bringing a tissue to wipe his face. The doctor notices manik's facial expressions change.
M- kyun?
Doc- manik what do you mean?
M- don't you know what i mean doc?
Doctor looks at him nervously.
Doc- manik it's getting really late... i think you both should leave now....
C- arey hum aise kaise jaa sakte hai doctor... apki recent patient ke bare mein baat karni hai hume...
doctor looks at him sweating..
M- bol.... tell me the truth..
Doc- what truth manik? The doctor asked pretending to be clueless... he starts walking away from cabir and manik.
Manik hold him from the back and turns him around and holds his collar tightly making the doctor frightened. Manik's face showed pure anger. His eyes held rage and pain all mixed in one.
M- kahan hai meri nandini?! Bol!!! He yelled holding his collar.
Doc- manik... pls what are you saying... nandini is dead... tumne khud dekha uski body ko...
M- SHUT UP!!! What i saw was a dead body with a face that resembled my nandini! Where is she?! Seede seede bol warna tujhe yahin mar doonga!!! He yells at the top of his voice... listening to which the doctor's wife and daughter come running outside in worry.
The doctor looks at them helplessly.
Doc's wife- kya kar rahe ho... chodo unhe!! She pleads to manik but the monster didn't pay attention to a single cry or plead they made.
Doc- manik please leave me... i really don't know what you're talking about... the doctor said crying.
M- you don't know?! Fine ab jo tumare saath hoga only you are responsible for!!!
He said and pucnhed the doctor's face harshly. He kept throwing the doctor around, hitting him and beating him up until the doctor was almost unconscious lying in a pool of blood. Cabir ran upto manik and held him tight to stop him from harming the doctor any further.
C- manik kya kar raha hai?! Mar jayega woh..
M- isne mere nandini ke saath... no i won't spare him! He says and proceeds futher to beat up the doctor...
his wife and daughter are on the floor crying and pleading manik but he pays no heed.
C- manik tujhe iski zaroorat hai to find out about what actually happened to nandini! Please calm down.
Manik stops and the doctor's daughter runs and covers the doctor with his hands.
Daughter- pls don't hit him any further... pls
Manik looks at her indifferently.
M- ask him to tell me what happened to my wife...and where she is...
The daughter looks at the doctor and begs him to speak.
The doctor gets up with great difficulty and goes towards manik.
Doc- i will tell you... but please yeh baat yahan se bahar nahi jani chahiye... please it is of utmost importance for me...the doctor pleads folding his hands in front of manik.
Manik nods and drags him to the sofa and makes him sit there.
M-bol... tell me everything!
Doc- manik nandini ka operation hone se pehle...someone came to meet me... and asked for all details about nandini's case claiming to be a well wisher... and i believed her...
M- her?
Doc- yes... it was a woman... she infact offered to pay me extra to take care of nandini's surgery to ensure her survival.
Manik looked on confused.
Doc- Not only that, main tumhe call karke bolne hi wala tha... regarding nandini's reports and how they have improved. Yeh operation toh waise bhi successful hojati... over this month nandini's health was only getting better. Uske bachne ke chances zyaada the. I don't now how or why but it is surey because of your love and hope manik beta. I thought of informing you about this directly on the day instead of earlier...
manik looked on with teary eyes... he was actually curing nandini
Doc- the lady then told me i had to keep my mouth shit while Nandini was being taken away and another body was being replaced. I refused to do so and threatened her to inform you and the police but she left me no choice. She had kidnapped my wife and daughter. I had to do this to save them manik! Please forgive me.... the doctor folded his hand in front of manik in guilt.
Manik closed his eyes in pain and held his fists tightly. He couldn't believe someone could be so heartless to do this to nandini.
M- kon thi woh jisne apse yeh sab karwaya? He said calmly trying to control himself.
Doc- Neyonika Malhotra...he said taking a deep breath.
Manik felt the ground below his feet fall. Cabir looke don shocked.
Manik held himself together and stared at the doctor blankly.
M- what exactly happened after nandini's surgery?
Doc- two men came in wearing masks and took her out and replaced her body. Mrs malhotra called me after to say my daughter and wife have been set free but if i utter a word about this to anyone... they'll be in grave danger. I'm sorry manik i was helpless.
Manik said nothing further... he took out a bundle of money and threw it at the doctor's face and walked out of the house followed by cabir.
In the car manik closed his eyes and rested his head back on his car seat. He thought of all his moments with nandini... her smile, her laugh, her confessions, her fear of not being able to live with them, her tears. He clenched his hands onto the steering wheel holding it tightly to let out his frustration. He was deeply hurt and broken on the inside... first nandini's kidnapping and second his own mother had done this to him. She had snatched his life away.
C- don't worry manik we'll find nandini... bohot jaldi he said trying to calm manik down.
C- manik i know this is a lot to take... neyonika itni gir jayegi even i didn't imagine... i always knew woh tumare happiness ke khillaf thi but... this is...
M- she will have to pay for this...
Manik said now opening his eyes showing complete fury. He suddenly starts to smiling like a mad person and drives the car rashly to the malhotra mansion. Cabir looks at him concerned. As a true friend he knew what manik was going through. Manik banged open the front door.
M- NEYONIKA MALHOTRA!!!! He screamed at the top of his lungs...
a lady who seemed visibly young and elegant walked down the stairs like nothing mattered. She had a smile of her face.
Manik looked at her with vengeful eyes.
Neyo- manik... why are you screaming... you seeing me after 3 months come on... show some love... she says sarcastically while going to the bar and making herself a drink.
Manik walks upto her and hold her hand and jerks her away. She falls to the ground. And looks up at him shocked.
Neyo- what the hell manik?! I'm your mother kya kar rahe ho tum?!
M- shut up!!!! Don't you dare call yourself my mother! You disgust me! He yells at her going close.
He hold her neck tightly in his hands.
M- WHERE IS MY NANDINI?! He yells pushing her against the wall. Neyonika struggles to breathe and get out of his hold.
Neyo- *coughs* manik... i don't even know who nandini is... what are you talking about?!
M- don't you dare pretend like you don't know! You know i can kill you right?! My dad won't say a thing! So don't you dare lie to me! He says punching the wall her to next face. He hold her face tightly with his bleeding hand and pushes her further into the wall. Manik had forgotten his surroundings. He didn't think of what he was doing. He had no conscience.
Cabir holds his hand.
C- manik chod unhe! Let her speak! He manages to pull away manik's hand. Neyonika breathes heavily.
Neyo- manik... i don't know who or what you're talking about... i don't know anything about nandini!! She said trying to catch her breath. Manik yet again punched the wall beside her. His hand was badly hurt but he didn't care. Nothing beat the pain in his heart. He moved back and walked to the bar and smashed a bottle and took the sharp end next to her face. He held her neck.
M- ab agar sach nahi bola toh i will show no mercy!
Neyonika looked at him in fear.
Neyo- manik no... please.. i am your mother..
M- shut your mouth! You are not my mother! I am ashamed of you! But right now i don't care about that! Just tell me where my nandini is!!!! Kya kiya tumne uske saath?!
Neyonika owing to the fear of manik's actions blurted...
Neyo- i.. i'll tell you... please.. leave me.. i'll show you.. she says trying to save herself.
Neyonika then takes manik and cabir to one of the rooms that had 3 monitors around.... she turns them on and shows them the footage.
Cabir looks on shocked. Manik moves back feeling numb. He falls to the ground near the door. He has a blank face on. A face that only held pain and agony. Tears even feared to come out. Manik was breathing but he was lifeless.
