40~ Soulmates

Nandini held Manik and walked upstairs to their bedroom. She made him sit on the bed and went downstairs to get him water and food as she knew he would have not eaten the whole day. Nandini went upstairs with food & water and what she saw when she entered the room broke her heart into pieces.
Manik was sitting holding his knees in a dark corner of the room crying his eyes out. Nandini was shocked to see his condition. She out everything down on the table and rushed towards him and hugged him tightly rubbing and patting his back. 
N- shhhh manik.... please kya hogaya hai tumhe... she says crying with him as she could not bear to see him in so much pain.
Manik continued to weep holding her tightly.
N- manik please stop crying for me? Please i can't see you like this...
M- n..n..nandini... i'm ...i'm a..murderer...he cried out stammering.
Nandini was shocked by what he said.. she moved back and looked at him horrifyingly.
N- m..mat..matlab?
N- manik... look at me.... kya matlab hai tumara... she asked holding his face up.
Manik got up and wiped his tears...
M- it's true nandini... i am a murderer.... khoon kiya hai maine kisi ka... he said blankly looking out to the window...
nandini got up and moved towards manik... she held his shoulder tightly.
N- kya bol rahe ho tum?! Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aa raha...
manik looked towards her and held her hand. He made her sit on the bed and kneeled down in front of her. He held her hands and kissed it.
M- iss sach ko jane ke baad tumhe mujhse shayad nafrat hojayegi... you might even abandon me and leave me forever but main tumse yeh nahi chupana chahta nandini...
N- manik you're scaring me... kya bol rahe ho tum? Konsa sach? She asked with worried teary eyes.
Manik went into the flashback of his childhood with myra and told nandini everything that had happened. (For reference read the previous chapter)
Nandini looked on shocked as she heard everything.
M- i killed my baby sister.... nandini
M- uski kii galti nahi thi... she was an innocent... she loved me and i never valued her. My parents they gave up on each other because of me... jo pyaar mujhe unse kabhi nahi mila jab maine woh pyaar unke aankhon mein myra ke liye dekha... i couldn't bear it. I never treated her like a sister. Neyonika ke saath aaj tak mein isi liye rehta hoon.... that is why i follow her instructions and bear her... because i know what i have done to her cannot be forgiven... haan she has also done mistakes.. many of them and mistakes that no other mother can do to their child but nothing of what she has done beats what i have caused her. I killed her child. Aaj shayad woh alag hoti if myra was still alive and this truth will haunt till the day I die.

Tears tripled down nandini's face as she pictured every word manik was saying. She felt sorry for myra... and what she had to go through. Nandini felt angry at manik's immaturity and his ignorance.

Woh baar baar mujhe mil jhulne ki koshish karti thi... but main... i used to push her away constantly. She loved me unconditionally and look where it landed her?  Nandini I have only caused damage to anyone and everyone I have loved. My parents... mere unke life mein ane ke baad they started fighting and then... i took their only hope away from them. My friends unke liye bhi i was a failure... tumhe pata hai... mukti... she seems so strong na? Tumhe pata hai when we were in boarding school saath mein she loved harshad... yes harshad... she used to date him. Harshad ne uspe cheat kiya and i made her see the truth. Harshad ne uske baad bohot baar mafi manga but i made sure mukti use nafrat kare. I made her hate love. And now she doesn't believe that love is made for her. Uske baad usne kisi ko bhi date nahi kiya hai... nandini she is still broken i know... i tried a lot to get back the old mukti and her innocence but the mukti now.. she takes pills to cure her depression. All because of me.... i was so involved in my own problems that i never paid full attention to take care of her when she was always there for me. And nandini you know alia... she has loved me for a long time aur yeh jaan ke bhi i never did anything about it.... uske feelings ko ignore kiya maine... i hurt her and disrespected her feelings.
And lastly you.... huh! Look tumne mujhse pyaar kiya and look what happened you got brain tumor... you got kidnapped and assaulted... and i could do nothing about it... he said laughing like a mad person getting up.
Nandini got up after him and tried to hold him but he moved away from her...
N- manik please listen to me... she cried.
I am such a failure.... he said falling to the floor & breaking down in front of Nandini as she looked at him crying badly. Suddenly nandini gets a call and she sees that it's ams. She knew ams wouldn't call her this late at night unless it was urgent so she couldn't help but answer it. She looks at manik who is crying helplessly
N- manik i have to take this.. it's ams please yahin raho... i will be right back please calm down... kuch nahi hua hai... main hoon na tumare saath... tum bure nahi ho... she said coming close to him and holding his face... he jerked her hands away from him..
Nandini looked at manik who was crying one last time and runs outside the room and answered the call.
N- ams she said is crying tone.
Ams- kanna kya hua tum ro kyun rahi hi? Manik theek hai?
Nandini falls to the ground and cries out..
N- ams he is in so much pain... i don't know what to do!!! I feel so helpless how do i take all this pain away... she cried out to ams.
Ams- kanna hua kya...
N- ams... i can't tell you eveything now.. mujhe manik ke paas wapas jana hoga he needs me.. but i just don't know what to tell him... kaise sambhaloon use?
Ams- kanna tumara pyaar uski strength hai... maine isi liye phone kiya tha because navya ke mujhe phone yeh bata ke ki manik subah se gayab tha aur abhi wapas aya hai... mujhe tum dono ki bohot chinta ho rahi thi... nandu apne aasoon ko saaf karo aur uske paas jao... tumhe uske liye strong rehna padega... pyaar mein koi bhi obstacles aye use saath mein mitane mein hi us pyaar ki jeet hoti hai. Live can conquer everything kanna.
Nandini wiped her tears listening to ams and got up determinedly. She had faith in her love. She knew she could fix manik and his broken heart.
She walked to the bedroom calling out manik's name.
N- manik... she said running into the bedroom but found him no where.
She looked everywhere in the bedroom for him but he was no where to be found. Nandini rushed outside the bedroom frantically looking for him everywhere and eventually went outside to the garden panicking. Something in her heart made her look up and she got the shock of her life. Her manik... was standing on the edge of the terrace. Nandini's heart stopped she couldn't think more. She ran upstairs at the speed of lightening and got to the terrace.
N- MANIK!!!!!!! She yelled!
Manik turned around and smiled at her with his ams wide open.
M- nandini.... i always wished ki jab main maroon toh sabse aakhri baar tumara chehra dekhoon... my nandini... my taara... ab iss duniya mein i cannot afford to hurt anyone else... isi liye i am ending my life... once and for all... it will be justice to myra... and everyone else i have failed... and you... tum barbaad hojaogi mere pyaar mein... isi liye i free you nandini i free you from my love humesha ke liye.
Nandini didn't know what to say... she felt the ground break away from under her feet. Tears no longer made their way out of her eyes. She never expected to see manik in this state... she never expected him to say these words...
Manik moved a little more back making him almost fall but not before he was held and pulled over by nandini... he fell on nandini.
Manik looked into her eyes painfully.
M- kyun bachaya mujhe... he cried.
Nandini pushed him harshly and got up.
Manik got up after her. Nandini moved back from him looking at him angrily and painfully.
M- nandini... he said like a prayer.
N- DON'T! She yelled at him.
N- don't you dare... manik malhotra... you disgust me... do you even hear yourself? Do you know what you just said to me? How could you manik... how could you throw away our love just like that? How could you??! Tumne aaj meri... humare pyaar ki insult ki hai.. you wanted to end your life?! Free me?! Welldone manik... aaj mujhe pata chala ki tum asliyat mein kya ho... you are weak! You are a coward!!! A bloody coward!!! Tumhe pata hai that day after what happened with aryaman i wanted to kill myself... after all ek ladki hoon main my diginity was at stake... but you know what kept me going? What kept me motivated to live? Our love! The trust i had on you.... ki jab tak tum mere saath ho everything will be fine! But you! You failed me manik... tumne apne life jo khoya... jo bhi blame apne sar liya woh sab tumari galti nahi thi... they happened due to their own circumstances... myra ki death was not your fault... it was an accident.. tumne use bachane ki koshish ki thi na?! But unfortunately everyone misunderstood you... unki galti hai that they never gave you what you deserved... they never tried to find out the truth! Mukti ko tumne bachaya harshad se... you saved her from being hurt again.. you proved your friendship to her a long time ago manik! And alia... tumne humesha apna dosti nibhaya... you were even ready to sacrifice me to save her and fab 5 from breaking up apart... no one can question your loyalty to them! You were never at fault manik.,.. tum bas apne aap ko blame karte rahe what things you haven't even done!!!
Manik looked at nandini with teary eyes feeing guilty.

N- manik... yeh sab chodo... tumne aaj mujhe bohot hurt kiya manik... she said crying out loud.
N- you were going to leave me forever... yeh jaanke bhi that i can't live without you... am I not enough manik?! Bolo? Kya main kafi nahi hoon to turn your sorrows into happiness? Is my love not worth it?
She asked falling to the ground.
Manik felt really guilty and ashamed upon his actions and words. He realised how much he had hurt nandini and how he ignored what her circumstances were.
Manik walked upto nandini and held her face between his palms and made her look up at him.
M- nandini... i'm sorry...
nandini got up jerking his hands away...
n- don't touch me manik malhotra... you asked for this... now i free you from this love... go do whatever you want... aaj ke baad stay away from me...
M- shut up nandini!! tum kya bol rahi ho... please jaan I understand my mistakes... maine jo kaha bas isi liye kaha because i was deeply hurt. I have faith in our love more than anything else.
N- i don't care manik! I hate you! Suna tumne i hate you! I am going out of your life humesha ke liye... jisko meri pyaar ki parwa nahi uski parwa main kyun karoon?! She said walking away pushing him away.

M- please nandini i will do as you say... phor kabhi aise react nahi karoonga. I will try erasing all this from my memory... i will try to move on.., but i need you nandini... please i need you..

M- nandini please aise mat kaho... i can't live without you... iske alwa i have nothing else in the world. I'm sorry baby please forgive me! He asked falling on his knees of her folding his hands crying.
Nandini stopped and cried listening to him but didn't turn around.

M- nandini please don't go... i will die without.. please... he begged her crying.

Nandini couldn't control herself anymore... she ran back to manik and kneeled in front of him holding his face in her trembling hands. He pulled him closer and kissed him passionately. The was harsh. Nandini let out all her love and pain through the kiss and so did manik. He bit her lips harshly making her moan. He entered her mouth and explored all her corners. He dominated her taking all his insecurities out. After ages they felt breathless and broke the kiss. Manik kissed her jaws and her neck making nandini moan out loud. He pushed himself into the crook fo her neck and bit there giving her a lovebite making nandini hiss. Nandini pulled his face and kissed all over his face and brought it closer to hers.
N- don't you dare talk about leaving me again! Or else i will kill you myself manik malhotra! I don't care about your past i only care about our future together! We will make our future the best... saath milke... we will fight anything and everything.
Manik nodded smiling and kissed her cheeks and pecked her lips tightly again.
M- i love you so much nandini... tum ek blessing ho mere life mein. I don't know what i've done to desrve you.
Nandini smiled and hugged him tightly. The despaired soulmates were once again at peace and it was all because of their true love.
