Derek POV

I listen intently as the mutt informs me of a problem. One that actually affects the both of us.

"So, you're telling me that she has no say in the matter?!"

A long pause goes on for few moments.

"Sorry, she was getting restless in her sleep. But yes, it wouldn't matter if she loves you more than me. Fate decides who stays and who goes."

Anger consumes me.

"This isn't fair!! Fate doesn't decide the Moon Goddess does!"

The Rouge King sighs.

"Look, I think fate is playing with the Moon Goddess' powers. We both cannot be Delilah's mate. Only one of us can be."

"ONLY I AM DELILAH'S MATE, YOU DOG!!!"

The Rouge King growls.

"Don't insult me. I didn't have to tell you at all. Look I'm tired okay. The moment Delilah walked into my presence, I felt the mate bond. It confused me because I knew you had said that you were her mate. I thought you lied to her and the rest of the world. Now I have to go. I have a will to start writing. You should start on yours too, alpha."

He chuckles and hangs up.

That was not funny on any level.

Honestly, I think he knows he has a lower chance of survival.

I hear Reece clear his throat.

"Alpha what do we do?"

I look at them and silently slump into my chair.

"Pray that the Moon Goddess fixes this problem wherever she is..."

Delilah POV

I know I am asleep but at the same time I know this isn't a dream.

I walk up to a beautiful gate and see the Vampire Goddess on the other side laughing with the Moon Goddess.

Anger rushes through me. They are fine nothing is wrong here.

I see them smile at me and whisper into the wind.

"This is not what it looks like."

I walk up to the gate and yank it open and the everything changes. The Moon Goddess is barely alive and the Vampire Goddess is in chains. There's the sound of agony all around me. Then I see Valera holding a limp man in her arms. I slowly walk over to her and gasp. It's Maverick.

Valera looks up at me with hate in her eyes. It fades away as she turns from me.

She softly hums as she holds Mavericks lifeless body. Then she turns and looks at me with pain I can't describe.

"I'm sorry Delilah. I know this isn't your fault but I feel like I need to have a reason. Every time I look at you. I think if I had killed you. Maverick would still be here with me. But I have to remember you didn't do this... my father did. He ruined his family and my own."

I turn and look around at the souls of wolves trapped in the this deceiving picture of paradise.

I see the Moon Goddess begin to cough up blood. My mother looking at her with fear of losing her.

"Delilah come hear dear. I need you to help me."

I walk over to the Moon Goddess and the closer I get to her the more pain I feel in my heart.

It hurts to be around the one who is held so dear to wolves. She is their Mother.

"You and Valera are the only ones that can save us. But you both must die first. I promise once this all is resolved I will give both of your lives back. I feel so helpless not being able to fix my own creations.. my children..."

It's heartbreaking to watch the Moon Goddess cry. She has never done that before. It shows how much we have in common with the gods.

Valera takes my hand and smiles.

"When we wake up. We know what we must do. I'll be waiting on the other side sister."

Derek's POV

I feel so overwhelmed. What do I do?

Suddenly I feel a sharp pain shoot through. Both Michael and I begin to scream in pain. I feel like I'm dying.

Michael begins yelling in agony.

"DELILAH NOOO!!! DON'T LEAVE ME!! YOU ARE MY SISTER!! I LOVE you..."

His voice fades as he lies there breaking down in tears.

Tears swell in my own eyes as well. The connection between me and Delilah is gone.

I fall to my knees and howl. I just lost the love of my life and I never got to tell her I loved her one last time. Why would she do this? She committed suicide.

I would be dead if someone had harmed her.
