A/N I got distracted by Taylor Swift's new song yesterday and basically ignored Wattpad oops
Castiel doesn't know when he falls asleep, but he wakes up lying on the floor next to the couch, a pillow under his head and a light blanket on top. He sits up with a yawn, rubbing his eyes. He can't see anybody from where he sits, but he can hear a guitar somewhere, and that's where he decides to go.
It doesn't take long for him to find Lucifer and Dean. They're both in what used to be Castiel's room, the former playing Chuck's old guitar while the latter sits on the floor and watches approvingly. Misha is lying behind Lucifer in bed as if trying not to disturb him while at the same time not wanting to leave him alone.
"You're getting good," Castiel comments, getting their attention easily.
"Not as good as you and Dean, but I'm working on it," Lucifer replies.
"Nice hair," Dean adds with a teasing smile.
"You're just jealous that you can't rock the bed head look like I can," Castiel retorts playfully.
"Seriously, you're so fluffy!" Lucifer tells him.
"He's my fluffy," Dean says, standing up to give his boyfriend a quick kiss. "Good morning," he murmurs.
"'Mornin'," Castiel replies. "Any word from Anna?"
"Nada," Lucifer replies. "She's probably still sleeping. It's only, like, nine. And if you're curious, we've got jack squat on whatever Claire was talking about, too. Life is full of mysteries today."
"Hopefully mysteries that will be solved soon," Castiel adds. "If nothing else, I just want to know what's up with Cain, because he seems like an asshole, but there's no way Anna would have put up with four years of dating an asshole."
"Apparently, all her friends are assholes, though," Lucifer replies. "I wouldn't be surprised if Cain is, too."
"What are you guys talking about?" Dean asks.
Castiel pats him on the head. "My poor, clueless little Dean," he says as if talking to a toddler. In a normal tone, he adds, "You slept through a lot last night. Don't even question it."
"Okay?" Dean says uncertainly. "I'm very confused but I'm just gonna roll with it."
"At this point, I think that's all you can do."

Castiel and Dean leave Misha at the Novak house so they can go spend some "quality time" together. That sounds like a nice, romantic date, right?
Wrong.
They hit the gym together, something Castiel hasn't done in months. He's been jogging around the neighborhood a bit, sure, but that's about it. This is not going to be fun. He'll just have to take it slow.
But that doesn't happen.
Dean and Castiel are in the treadmills next to each other. Castiel has his earbuds in, listening to some AC/DC to distract himself, because he finds that when he thinks about the music instead of the pain, he can run a lot longer.
He thinks he's doing pretty well until he glances over and sees that Dean is on speed 6.5, and Castiel is on speed 6. He has no clue what these numbers are measured in, but he does know that no matter what, Dean is going faster than him, and he refuses to let that fly. He picks up the pace, upping it to 6.6 just so he can feel better about himself.
Dean seems up pick up on what he's doing, because he meets the same speed, but increases the incline so he's still working harder than Castiel. Castiel ups the incline so he passes Dean's, and he instantly regrets it. His lungs already feel like someone lit a match in them, but this is killing his legs more so than before. Even his shoulders are starting to hurt from the tension in them. He refuses to be the first one to stop, though, even if he usually would have taken a break by now.
