I met Aubrey in 2009 when Emma introduced us I was instantly smitten with her...she was a photographer and had an incredible eye..so I invited her on the tour to promote the new album by then we were dating it was honestly great...when I took a few weeks off to film a new movie she agreed to come with me...she dealt with everything from me losing the weight, to me needing to stay in character, and even to me raiding her bags...she was completely supportive and that's when I knew she was the one so come no surprise that when we were on vacation for my birthday I proposed of course she said yes..somehow with all the award shows we've managed to keep quiet about our engagement...tonight was the Oscars and not only was Aubrey attending with me but so was Shannon and my mother..I walked into our shared bedroom seeing Aubrey dressed in a maroon dress that nearly identically matched my tie...her dark wavy hair was pinned up in a low bun...the diamond studs I bought her for Christmas shined brightly...I kissed her cheek "We match...sorta."

Aubrey laughed "Didn't mean for that to happen....I just really liked this dress."

I took in her dress it was low cut in the front and back and had a jeweled belt...it hugged her curves perfectly "You look amazing."

She smiled "Thank you baby."

I smiled "Well what about me?"

Aubrey laughed pulling me closer by my jacket "As handsome as ever..may have a hard time keeping my hands to myself."

I leaned down pressing a light kiss to her lips "We need to head down Shan and mom should be here soon."

She grabbed her clutch "Okay I'm ready.."

I nodded and we walked downstairs to see my mom and Shannon "Hey guys."

Mom smiled "Jared you look handsome..and Aubrey you look gorgeous.."

I smiled "Doesn't she.."

Shannon kissing her cheek "You look beautiful Aubs."

Aubrey smiled "You look very handsome yourself Shan."

I laughed "Aubs Shan...you two I swear."

He laughed "You call her Aubs too."

I grinned "I do.."

Emma laughed "Okay prom picture time!"

Aubrey put her hands out "Wait...we need mother and sons first."

Mom shook her head "Aubrey you're family too."

She smiled "I have my reasons for this just go with it please."

I chuckled "Mom if I've learned anything over these 5 years don't question anything Aubrey does."

Mom laughed "Okay.."

After a few pics and some with Shannon and a few with all of us...I pulled Aubrey closer to me "Our turn my bride to be."

Aubrey smiled "J.."

I pressed a kiss to her cheek as she laughed while Shannon took the picture. "There now let's go..."

Shannon nodded handing me my phone "Lets go Oscar nominee."

I smiled softly...the car ride there the nerves began to set in...I looked over feeling Aubrey lace her fingers with mine...I raised her hand pressing a kiss to it "I love you."

Aubrey smiled softly "I love you too.."

When we got there I got out first helping Aubrey out followed by my mother then Shannon...walking the carpet we took pictures and did interviews...before I knew it the show had begun I sat between my fiance and mother while Shannon happily sat beside our mother...when my category came up I felt myself tighten my grip on Aubrey's hand "Babe.."
