It's been a great couple years for me and Lola...at the end of 2012 I got the part of a lifetime for me playing a transgender who was HIV positive...Lola was amazing through all of it from beginning to end and beyond patient with everything all while dealing with her own career...she was perfect...now she was asked to attend a party here in LA where she was being honored for not only her work in fashion but what she's done with her line being involved in many charities...I sat on the bed watching her get ready "You look amazing"
I shook my head as I stood behind her my hands resting on her hips "You look breathtaking...and you even got me and Shannon to wear suits.."
She took a deep breath "I'm so nervous."
I moved her hair off her neck pressing a kiss to the exposed skin "Don't be..both me and Shannon are going to be there...we got your back baby...and I'm so unbelievably proud of you."
Lola smiled "J.."
I held my phone out taking a picture as I pressed a kiss to her cheek..while she finished getting ready I walked downstairs posting the picture *Tonight I get to fully support this girl for all her hard work in fashion and her charity work...@lolak I'm so proud of you..you're the true rockstar tonight babyI love you 😘* I walked into the kitchen seeing Jamie, Shayla, and Shannon "Hey...she's coming nerves are getting to her."
Shannon nodded "This foundation means the world to her...so this is huge...and she's being thrust into the spotlight people are finally paying attention to what a badass she is besides being your girlfriend."
I nodded "I wanna do something for her I just haven't figured out what yet."
He nodded "You'll think of something."
Shayla hung up the phone "Constance and Evelyn will meet us there..."
I nodded "Great."
Lola walked downstairs "Okay I'm ready."
I smiled softly "Now the heels make it look even better."
She smiled softly "What do you guys think?"
Shannon kissed her cheek "You look beautiful Lola."
I smiled "See.."
Lola smiled "Yeah."
We took a few pictures and headed out...this was a very formal event a lot of other celebs were being honored..I got the honor to walk the carpet with the love of my life as she has done with me quite a few times..after numerous pictures we all sat at this table..I watched a woman talk about adoption then introduce Lola...I stood up giving her a brief light kiss then let her huh the others especially her mom
Lola smiled as she got on stage holding the award "Adoption is a subject very close to my heart I myself was adopted at a very young age...I never had to experience what some children experience living in the system..I was adopted by an absolutely wonderful woman with the beautiful heart and soul I've ever seen...I travel the world I meet tons of people at my boyfriend's meet and greats and I've heard stories of how their music helped them in foster care bouncing from house to house before aging out...those stories are the ones that made me join forces with this foundation while I was adopted at just a few months old some children wait years and some it never happens...I often think about the what ifs...where would I be what would of happened to me...I was lucky..now I do all I can to help every child in foster care..." she paused taking a deep shakey breath "I like many wonder where I come from but then I look at that wonderful woman who didn't care that we shared no blood who took in an abandoned baby and made her her own...she made me the woman I am gave me the tools to do something great..Momma I love you..you are my best friend the number one love of my life...sorry Jared..."
I laughed softly but nodded
She smiled "Tonight I want you all to look around adoption doesn't define a person..its a little piece that makes us unique...this foundation helped me find answers 28 years later...when they called me telling me they wanted to honor me for the things I've done for them I cried Jared and Shannon were worried I literally was sitting on the floor crying...okay I'm getting told to wrap it up so yeah thank you so much for this honor it means the world to me.."
I stood clapping as she walked off stage...after the dinner we did an interview I smiled as Lola talk...I chuckled as I was asked a question "Nah as long as I've actually known Lola I know very well how her relationship with her mom is...I know I may not be number one but I'm the number one guy in her life so it's all good."
The guy nodded "How does it feel being the supportive boyfriend tonight for a change?"
I smiled "Anytime I get to take a backseat to her I welcome it...I get to sit back and just be proud of her...shes supported me through so many things so I love these times where I get to show just how proud I am of her."
He nodded "What's next Lola?"
Lola smiled softly "Gosh uh keep working on new items for Lolibird..go on road with this guy again.."
The guy smiled "Any plans for you two to walk down the aisle?"
She looked up at me with a smile "You never know what the future may hold."
I smiled "Never say never."
He nodded "Thanks for your time guys.."
I nodded and walked away holding her hand "I am so proud of you."
Lola looked up at me with a smile "Thank you."
I cupped her chin lightly pressing a kiss to her lips..
Shannon chuckled "Get a room guys."
I chuckled "Can you blame me she looks amazing tonight."
He chuckled pulling Lola into a hug "Yes she does...so proud of you Lola.."
Lola smiled "Thanks Shan...have my mom and Constance already left..I wanted to see them off."
Shannon nodded "Yeah Evelyn said she's so proud of you and to enjoy your night."
I smiled softly...after a long night we went home..I changed while Lola was in the bathroom "I wanna put this in my studio."
She laughed from the bathroom "Why the studio?"
I shrugged laying on the bed "Show anyone who comes in the real rockstar is Lola Keagan."
Lola walked out dressed in just one of my pajama shirts "I'm still surprised they used Lola instead of Lauren."
I smiled slightly as I saw her "Damn you're gorgeous."
She smiled "Am I now?"
I grabbed her hand pulling her down straddling my lap "I love you."
Lola let her fingers entangle in my hair "I love you too."
I leaned up capturing her lips with mine...god I loved her
