accidental love (COMPLETED)

chapter 2: the first date

tonight was the night.

josh was taking tyler out for dinner. tyler insisted just taco bell was perfectly fine, but josh insisted he take them to the nicest steakhouse in columbus.

josh waited downstairs for tyler in a pink shirt-sleeved button up along with navy pants and black vans.

tyler came down the stairs a little while later in a floral short-sleeved button up, black skinny jeans, and floral vans.

"you look stunning, tyler joseph," joshua smiled, extending his arm for tyler to take.

"o-oh. t-thank you," tyler said quietly, blushing deeply, taking josh's arm and walking with him to the car.

"you don't see yourself as beautiful, do you?" josh asked, opening the car door for tyler.

tyler shrugged. "no, n-not really."

"i figured," josh said, getting in the driver's seat. "typically the most beautiful people are the ones who don't recognize it."

tyler blushed deeply and smiled, fiddling with his fingers nervously.

"so, tyler joseph, what do you like to do?"

"o-oh. well, i-i play piano and ukulele, i-i sing, paint, write songs, draw. i just love the fine arts," tyler smiled, shrugging adorably. "w-what about you?"

"well, i play the drums, listen to a lot of music, i play baseball from time to time. i also cook a lot as well as design tattoos for people. it's a lot, but i love it," josh smiled.

"t-that's really cool, josh. i-i've never had somebody cook for me before. it sounds like it would be kind of nice."

josh smiled and shrugged. "maybe that'll be our second date."

"y-yeah, t-that would be wonderful," tyler said, trying his best to sound as relaxed as possible.

"cool. it's a date," josh smiled.

"it's a date."

and so they finally arrived at the restaurant, and tyler learned josh was quite the gentleman.

he opened doors for him, he pulled his chair out for him, he allowed tyler to go first.

what a great boy.

not to mention, he was handsome, too.

very handsome.

they found out more about each other, getting pretty personal as the night went on. tyler shared that he battled with depression while josh added about his terrible anxiety.

"it's a miracle i had the courage to ask you out," josh grinned shyly.

"well, i couldn't be happier that you did," tyler smiled.

about an hour later, josh drove tyler home, walking him up to the doorstep.

"thank you for such a wonderful night, joshua. i-it was my first real date, as embarrassing as it sounds."

josh grinned and nodded. "well i'm glad you let me be your first date, tyler joseph. and i'll make sure i call you for a second one."

"please do that," tyler smiled.

"i'll see you around, tyler joseph."

"see you around, joshua dun."

"oh, and tyler?"

"yes, joshua?"

"remember how beautiful you are."
