it was the next day, and josh parked outside the joseph's home.

he quietly knocked on the door with a grin, holding a bouquet of lavender, yellow, and pink tulips.

"oh, you must be joshua!" mrs. joseph exclaimed happily as she opened the door. "please, come in! come in!"

"o-oh, t-thank you, mrs. joseph," josh smiled shyly.

"please, call me kelly!" she said. "would you like some tea?"

"i'm good, thank you. t-these are for you," he said with a shy smile, holding the tulips out for the woman.

"oh, dear! you're too sweet. thank you so much," kelly grinned, putting the flowers in a vase containing water.

"it's the least i could do. t-thank you so much for letting me take tyler out," josh said.

"oh, honey. he hasn't stopped talking about you for days!"

"mom!" tyler explained, blushing deeply as he stood at the bottom of the stairs.

"h-hi, tyler. y-you look stunning," josh said shyly, a smile on his face as he stood up and walked over to the boy.

"h-hi. s-so do you," tyler said quietly, looking down at his shoes with a grin.

josh smiled and shyly extended to tyler. "you ready?"

tyler blushed deeply and smiled, nodding his head as he took josh's hand.

"i'll see you later, mom," tyler said, waving to his mother.

"bye, mrs. joseph! it was wonderful meeting you," josh smiled.

"bye guys! i'll see you later!" she waved.

"so where are we going?" tyler asked as they got in the car.

"it's a surprise!"

josh wasn't sure if the second date was too soon to be romantic on, but that was just who he was.

he was a romantic boy.

but so was tyler. he loved everything romantic, and he enjoyed being romantic as well. though he had never had a boyfriend before. but neither did josh, so it would be a first time for both of them.

what are they thinking?

they aren't even boyfriends yet.

"oh, fine," tyler sighed. they held each other's hand as josh drove them to their date destination,

about twenty minutes later, josh parked the car and led tyler to a treehouse in the back of the dun home.

fairy lights were strung around it, there were two bean bags inside along with a couple blankets, and a picnic basket containing taco bell.

josh helped tyler into the structure, following him up. "aww, jish! it's so adorable! i love it!" tyler exclaimed as he looked around, plopping down onto the beanbag.

"that's good," josh smiled. "i was afraid you wouldn't."

"well, i do," tyler grinned, reaching over and taking josh's hand. "i like it a lot. almost as much as i like you."

josh blushed and looked down shyly, busying himself with the food so tyler wouldn't notice how red he was.

he handed tyler two tacos, one chalupa and a baja blast.

"awww! how did you know?? these are all my favorites!"

"you told me the first night we started texting," josh shrugged and laughed.

"that was weeks ago!"

"yep. and your favorite color is red, you don't like spiders, you're quite good at english but not so great at math, and you dream of getting married some day," josh grinned.

"oh, wow. y-you actually read my texts," tyler said surprisedly.

"of course i did," josh smiled. "why wouldn't i?"

tyler smiled shyly and shrugged.

they talked for hours, eating their taco bell and ending up cuddling in the tree house, sharing one bean bag and one blanket.

josh had his arm wrapped around tyler's shoulders, and tyler was leaning his head against josh's side, holding josh's left hand as the older boy's right arm was wrapped around his shoulders.

"ty?"

"mhm?"

"when do you think it's ok to ask someone be your boyfriend/girlfriend?"

"i guess whenever the time feels right," tyler shrugged, not thinking much of it.

"ok," josh said.

a few minutes later, josh looked down at the boy in his arms. "hey tyler?"

"mhm?" tyler responded, looking up at the taller boy.

"will you be my boyfriend?" josh grinned, looking down into tyler's eyes.

tyler blushed deeply and smiled widely, nodding his head. "of course, joshua. it'd be an honor."

after a couple more hours, josh drove tyler home, walking him up to the doorstep and holding both of his hands, grinning down at the shorter boy.

"t-thanks for such a great night," he smiled.

"i should be the one doing the thanking," tyler giggled shyly, squeezing his boyfriend's hands. "text me when you get home, yeah?"

josh smiled and nodded, rubbing the back of tyler's hands with his thumbs. "i'll see you tomorrow, baby."

tyler blushed at the nickname and smiled, opening the door and stepping inside. "goodnight, joshua."

"goodnight, tyler," josh smiled, waving and heading back to the car. halfway to the car, tyler ran up behind josh and spun him around, their lips crashing together.

both boys grinned, josh's right hand going to the base of tyler's neck as tyler held his boyfriend's left hand with his right.

it wasn't sexual or heated, it was loving. and neither boy could stop smiling and giggling every few seconds.

they pulled back, josh resting his forehead against tyler's, tyler smiling up at him, both their eyes closed.

"t-that was my first kiss," tyler said shyly.

"m-mine too," josh whispered back.

"i-i'll see you tomorrow," tyler smiled, looking down at their connected hands.

"see you then, tyler," josh smiled, driving home with a wide smile.
