I woke up earlier than usual in fear I might get late for the first day of Senior High. You were supposed to pick me up from my home. I remembered our conversation the previous night after you went home.

"Don't you dare be late, Shuuya!" I had anxiously exclaimed over the phone.

"Goodnight to you too Kira." I could tell you were smirking on the other side.

I glanced at my watch while waiting for you. A couple moments later you showed up and I heaved a sigh of relief.

"Only five minutes late.Thank God!" I mumbled to myself and sighed. You took a thorough gaze at me in my new uniform, me doing the same to you.

"We look good." I jokingly commented.

"Let's go now." Chuckling, you responded.

The entire way to school, we talked about our friends who were going to different schools. Some weren't even in Inazuma town anymore, they were attending school in other cities.

As we got closer to our school, my smile faded and was replaced by anxiety instead. I squeezed your palm as I took a deep breath.

"Relax, it's going to be just fine." Your calming voice helped me a little.

I let go off your hand as we entered the main gate. Your expression changed to your usual stoic one and mine to a solemn one. I was observing my surroundings in hopes of assessing what kind of place this would turn out to be. I realized it wasn't all that different from Raimon after all. This relieved me a little further.

"Damn it!" I muttered under my breath as I found out we weren't going to be in the same class.

"Don't worry, we will meet between breaks." You put your hand on my shoulder and tried to calm me down as we stood in front of my class.

You walked over to your section and I sheepishly stepped further into mine. Somehow I found a place near the window. I dropped down on my chair immediately and continued sulking over us being in different sections.

"Why do these things happen to me?" I thought to myself.

Soon the teacher arrived and the class initiated. We all took turns introducing ourselves before the lesson began. I couldn't concentrate since I was nervous and my mind kept going to what you might be doing. I was so used to you sitting on the seat in front of me that this seemed bizarre to me.

Somehow I made it through the class without fidgeting with frustration. I rushed towards the door and found you waiting there for me while leaning against the wall. You had a calm smile spread across your face which made me smile too.

"So, how was your first class?" You asked eagerly.

"A couple of girls made small talk with me and I didn't pay attention to anything so in short, boring." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh don't be like that, Kira. Try to make some friends, will you?" You insisted.

"I don't need any more friends. I already have enough." I retorted.

"But they aren't here right now so what can you do?"

"You're here."

"Yah but I can't be around all the time since you see, our classes are different." You reasoned with me.

"Ugh fine. But only one friend. No more." I replied.

"Alright, just one." You chuckled.

By now the break was almost over so we decided to get back to our classes. My mood had significantly improved after talking to you which made it easier for me to concentrate on rest of the classes.

As the school finally ended once again we walked back home together. We were in no hurry this time so we casually strolled along the way, my arm interlinked with yours.

"I'm sorry I was rude to you today. It was just the stress talking." I apologised.

"You weren't rude. Don't worry about it, I understand." You looked towards me with a smile.

"You are so sweet!" I couldn't stop myself from exclaiming," I don't know how would I have survived today without your help."

"I barely did anything." You nonchalantly declared.

I paused a while, my eyes filled with admiration for you,

"This is why I love you."
