Words fail to describe the confusion and commotion of the following day. Sitting in the stadium, I watched it all unfold in front of my eyes with utter disbelief. At one point, even you seemed to have lost grasp of the chain of events and that worried me even more. Despite that, in the end, Raimon delivered as promised and won the Holy Road tournament and with it, ending Fifth Sector’s reign once and for all. The stadium roared with cheers for them as they made the winning goal. I too jumped up and joined everyone else in the celebration.

After the match, I climbed down from the seating area to the field but I did not approach you immediately. I stood quietly aside and watched you talk to your friends after so long. Now everyone knew what you had done and the reason behind you choosing to work for Fifth Sector. I was washed over with relief as I saw you talking to your best friends, Endou and Kidou just like old times.

When things quieted down a bit, you turned in my direction and noticed me. I had been standing the same way for a while now, smiling contently watching you regain everything that you had lost along this difficult path.

“How long have you been there?” You asked pleasantly surprised.

In return I just shrugged lightly. Now I walked towards you, with each step closing the space between us that had lingered on for so long.

“You did it.” I softly commented, placing my hands on the lapels of your coat, looking up at your face that now bore the radiance of victory.

The next moment you pulled me close into a hug in one quick motion. As I finally held you close to me, clutching onto you tightly, I found it hard to keep my heart from bubbling up with happiness and I closed my eyes taking in the bliss of it all. We broke apart and you held my face in your palms, resting your forehead onto mine. I didn’t even realise when tears of happiness brimmed my eyes and you wiped them away with your thumbs.

Before we could say anything else to each other, Endou came back looking for us.

“Come on, Gouenji, Riye, we’re going to celebrate at Rairaiken. Hurry up.” and with that he left. We chuckled at his everlasting enthusiasm and followed.
