Another month went by and things barely changed. I continued working in the fifth sector and you got even busier watching over the Holy Road tournament. Earlier, you sometimes found time after everyone had gone home, to sit down with me and have a little chat and catch up but now I hadn't seen you in over a month. I understood, though, that you were carrying out an important task and you needed your complete focus on it. Still, it was hard for me to not miss you.
The weather, like my mind, was beginning to turn bleak. At one point, thick black clouds covered the sky and I thought that once again they had come to provide me with some solace but they too seemed to have somewhere important to be. I watched them slowly float away, revealing the purple and pink sky, through my window, then returned and fell down on my bed in disappointment, face buried in my pillow. I was starting to lose my patience. I mentally cursed the man responsible for uprooting our perfectly content lives like this and causing this mess of a situation.
I was lost in my thoughts for so long I didn't realise when I fell asleep. In my sleep, I suddenly heard a knock on my door. I looked up drowsily with annoyance in the direction and after another knock, I got up in one quick motion and marched to the door planning to get angry at whoever it was who wouldn't just let me be.
I opened the door with a jolt but as soon as I did I was taken aback at the sight in front of me. You stood at my doorstep, wearing a smile on your lips and a fondness for me in your eyes. I instantly felt elated upon seeing you as my jaw dropped in wonder.
"How?" I exclaimed under my breath. You didn't answer and instead pulled me into a tight hug.
When we broke apart, I pulled you inside and we sat down on my bed. I still couldn't understand how were you suddenly right beside me but I was too happy to care.
"I missed you so much." I spoke.
"I did too." You promptly responded, running your hand against my cheek. I closed my eyes losing myself in the moment. My eyes only opened again when I suddenly heard the sound of raindrops colliding against the window panes. I turned in wonder to find the clouds pouring down heavily. I rushed towards my window to take a look outside, you following right after.
"What is happening?" I exclaimed a second time since the season of rain was pretty much gone.
"Looks like everything is perfect." You commented with a smirk.
"How did you know what I was thinking?" I asked in amazement.
In response, you just shrugged.
My eyes shot wide open all of a sudden and I looked around to find myself all alone. I woke up in confusion and looked around once again. There was no sign of you being there. I glanced towards the window and a crescent moon adorned the cloudless sky. It was then I realised that I had never got up in the first place and everything had been a dream.
I fell down sideways on the bed again in a pang of disappointment, but when I remembered the dream again I couldn't help but smile.
"I can't wait until this dream turns to reality." I thought to myself.
