I continued working at fifth sector because somehow, being in your proximity made me feel good. Although, I wished I could be of more help to you. Ever since meeting you at the Inazuma tower, I had a mix of emotions brewing in my heart. I was awestruck by your effort to save soccer all by yourself but at the same time it hurt me to think about how heavy must the burden be to act like you supported the most awful thing to ever happen to soccer and have everyone hate you for it. You were willing to risk everything for the soccer you loved so dearly, and I was dumbfounded at the way you silently bore it all.
One evening I sat on my regular desk sorting through some files and arranging its documents in order. The office was empty and I was about to leave as well in a while. Honey colored sunlight from the setting sun, filtered through the half-opened blinds of the window beside my desk giving every object in its path a soft glow. But I did not have time to enjoy the sunset. I was engrossed in finishing my job and get home. It was harder concentrating without the office chatter that was present during the day to distract me from thoughts of you but I was trying my best.
After a while, I tore my gaze off of the files and raised my head only for my heart to skip a beat as I got aware of your sudden presence. I had no idea when you had quietly arrived and sat at the chair on the opposite side of my desk watching me with an amused smile as I fumbled between papers and knit my brows out of confusion. You seemed to have materialised out of thin air like a ghost and it took me a second to realise that you were actually there. Half of you was drenched in the warm hues of the sunlight, making your platinum-blond locks shine like gold.
"I thought meeting me was a big risk." I commented.
"There's no one around. Everybody has gone home." You answered as you casually leaned back in your chair still watching me with interest.
"Ri-ight." I said concentrating on my file again, "And I'm trying to leave too." But I found myself unable to think anything under your intense gaze. I looked up and found you smiling at my plight.
"Why do you do this?" You remarked.
"What?" I looked at you quizzically.
"You know, by coming to fifth sector, you just undid every effort I made to keep you out of this mess." You replied.
"I guess you can't plan everything now, can you?" I said, pleased with myself for coming up with an immediate retort.
"And now you have to deal with these files." You commented as you picked up the one on top of the stack. You opened it and casually started flipping through the pages.
"Well, I don't really mind as long as..." I stopped as I saw you sit up and get really focused on the file in your hand.
"Amemiya Taiyou." You mumbled the name of the player whose information you were looking at, "Isn't this the soccer genius of the decade?"
"Well, you know more than me." I shrugged, for lack of a better response.
"It's mentioned here that this kid has been unable to play soccer at the moment because of his lifelong illness." You seemed to speak more to yourself than to me, "If this file reaches Senguuji, he will do everything in his power to turn this kid into a seed regardless of the fact that he can't stand such intense training." You were now frowning like you always do whenever you are in deep thought.
You then swiftly got up, startling me again, and hastily placed a kiss atop my head, "Thanks, Kira, you have been of great help." You said and quickly hurried off along with the file.
"I didn't....do anything." My voice trailed off as I watched you walk away.
