Dark Pit held his head in his hands. He couldn't control the tears that were pouring down his cheeks. He was sitting under a large tree, near a human town. He couldn't even remember why he had started crying in the first place. He had come down here to eat some fresh fruit but before he had even gotten the chance, he felt an overwhelming sense of loneliness and pain. His short life had been full of hardship and holding everything in was difficult. Be would never admit it, but he was more like his light counter part than he let on. He rubbed his eyes in frustration, trying to stop the stinging but he continued to sob quietly. "P-Pitto?"
Dark Pit turned away quickly at the sound of Pit's voice. He must have been there to collect fruit for Lady Palutena. He was carrying a large basket. "Get lost," Dark Pit growled, but it sounded more like a whimper. "You're crying," Pit sounded astonished at the sight before him. Pittoo looked so vulnerable and upset, he had never seen him act this way before. "I said go!" Dark Pit shouted. "No!" "Why?" "I can't leave you here upset..." The dark angel fell silent and tried to compose himself. "What's wrong?" Pit asked, taking a step towards him. "I s-said get lost!" Pittoo shouted again. Pit didn't stop, he dropped the basket and hugged him tightly from behind.
"What are you-" Dark Pit growled as he tried to shake him off. "It's OK Pittoo, you don't have to hold it in," he said as he struggled against Dark Pit's protesting. "Get...OFF!" "No! I won't let go! Not until you tell me what's wrong," he insisted. "It's none of your business." "It is, because you're important to me," Pit whispered. Dark Pit froze at his words, he never thought Pit thought that much of him. "Pit...why can't you just leave me alone," he asked quietly. Pit smiled, "Because you don't want me to. It's OK to cry you know... I care about you." "Why do you care about a fake like me." "Don't say that. You're not a fake. We may look similar, but you're your own angel," he reassured. Dark Pit loosened up, feeling the tears well up again. "P-pit," he mumbled as he rubbed them away.
Pit let go and moved around to his front. He smiled down at him, "You don't have to go through this alone." He extended his hand out towards the dark angel. Dark Pit looked up at him, he gripped his hand tightly. The light angel pulled him up. They ended up very close to each other. "It's kinda weird seeing you like this," Pit whispered as he wiped away a stray tear on Dark Pit's cheek. Pittoo blushed and backed away. "Uh, thanks I guess," he mumbled. Pit picked up the basket and walked towards the road, "Let's go!" "Huh?" "You are coming right? I'll need help getting all the fruit Lady Palutena wants. Plus, it'll cheer you up!" He said with a huge smile on his face. Dark Pit rubbed the back of his neck, "I guess..." Pit grabbed his free hand and lead him down the road. Dark Pit followed behind, he looked down at their hands and smiled. "You are so annoying... never change."
