Pit carried a heavy box of decorations down the hallway. He scanned the doors for room 2F, hoping he could put it down soon. His spirit lifted when he saw the correct door, he shifted the box into one hand and knocked. After a few moments, the door swung open. "Hey, Pit. You brought me present?" "You could say that. You will be the one...putting them up, Magnus," he huffed as he set the box down. Magnus was much taller than Pit, he had to look up to talk to him. "It'll be done in no time," Gaol added, opening the box. Gaol was Magnus' friend, they were inseparable! She took out the banner and admired it. "Thanks for carrying all this. I know you have to get home soon," she smiled at Pit, which made him feel embarrassed. "It's f-fine. I've plenty of time!" He assured, adjusting his bag strap, "Are you guys sure you can do all this by yourselves?" "Of course. I'll have it done by myself before six," Magnus boasted as he picked up one of the books they had laid out. "Or at least I will..." Gaol sighed. Pit chuckled and waved goodbye as he took off for home.
"I'm home~" he called out as he closed the door behind him. "Oh good! Hurry and get changed. I need help setting the table," Palutena called back. "OK..." Pit sighed as he ran up the stairs. He really didn't want to have this dinner, but he decided it wasn't worth the argument. He changed out of his uniform quickly. "Uh... I guess I'll just wear this," he thought out loud, picking out a simple shirt and jeans. He was buttoning up his shirt when he noticed his phone was displaying a message. He unlocked it and read the display;
"You have your speech printed, right? Teach wants to know."
Pit looked over to his desk, the laminated sheet of paper he had prepared was right where he left it.
"Yep! Tell him not to worry, I'll be there at 8pm."
He sent the message and finished changing. He put his phone on silent and slipped it in his pocket.
He hurried down the stairs to see Palutena setting the table frantically. He took the large box of cutlery from her with a smile. "Thanks, I'll check on the dinner," she said walking briskly towards the kitchen. Pit set the table neatly and put the box back into the cabinet. "Phew, that's heavy..." he thought as he dusted off his shirt. A dull ding echoed through the house. "Pit! Let them in, I have my hands full," Palutena shouted from the kitchen. "OK! I got it..." he replied as left the dining hall. "I don't even know these people!" He mumbled, reaching out and opening the door. "Welcome, I'm-" he stopped short, he was looking straight at the boy from the game store; the other Pit.
He froze awkwardly. "Oh, why did it have to be him?" He thought. He cleared his throat, "I'm Pit. It's nice to meet you. Come on in." He moved to the side and avoided eye contact with him. He took note of the others. There was a woman who looked to be Palutena's age, the other was a girl who looked to be a few years older than him. "Pit? He has the same name as you~" the girl elbowed the other Pit as she spoke. He growled and looked down. "It's nice to meet you, Pit. I'm Viridi," the woman said as she walked inside. "This is Phosphora and...Pit," she motioned to the others. "I told you earlier. I go by Dark Pit now!" Dark Pit grumbled as he walked straight by Pit. "Welcome!" Palutena exclaimed, appearing suddenly from the dining hall, "I hope it wasn't difficult to find us." The conversation moved into the dinning hall, Pit sighed and closed the door. "Why hasn't anyone commented yet? We look so similar!"
(For clarification; Palutena and Viridi look a lot older than their goddess counterparts.)
