Pit rubbed his temple as he read over the paper for the second time. He couldn't concentrate, his eyes kept falling on the phone beside him. Dark Pit still hadn't messaged him back since he had come home yesterday. "He was acting weird..." he thought aloud, pushing out his chair and stretching. He picked up the phone and expected to see nothing, but the message icon made his heart jump. He quickly unlocked it to see who it was from, only to get a disappointing reminder that he had muted Pyrrhon. He was still spamming him with messages a day later. "What could he possibly want now?!" He exclaimed, opening it and reading back.
'We should hang out tomorrow.'
'Heyyyyyy you awake?'
'Meet me at 1 in the Cafe we saw each other in. I have a surprise :)'
'It's an emergency! Come quick :('"What is all of this..." he thought, worried about the drastic change in the last few. He glanced at the time, it was half one. He tapped the desk and thought about it briefly. "Ugh....Fine!" He shouted, grabbing his coat and jogging out of his room. He couldn't just leave it alone, he had to face this before it got out of control. "I'm going out, be back in an hour or so," he called out. Palutena looked up and smiled, "Alright. Be safe~" "Uh, yeah I'll be fine!" He closed the door behind him and walked briskly. "That Cafe... at least its close," he thought, checking the phone again. Nothing. He sighed and tried to forget about it as he made a b-line for the meeting place Pyrrhon had mentioned.
The weather was just as miserable as it had been all week, but the grey clouds looked particularly foreboding as Pit walked along the deserted paths. It didn't take long to reach the Cafe. There wasn't many people around, in fact the place looked closed. He looked around briefly, before Pyrrhon waved at him from inside. Pit forced a smile and entered, sighing quietly. "You came!" Pyrrhon shouted, jumping up and taking his hand. "Ah-yeah... Pyrrhon I just want to talk," Pit stood his ground and pulled his hand away. "Huh? Don't you want something to eat?" Pit shook his head, "Pyrrhon, I know we used to be...close, but I'm with someone else now. Sending me loads of texts and appearing out of no where is well..." "I get it..." Pyrrhon sat down and sighed, "I'm sorry. I just really like you, and I thought now that I'm finally back, well I thought it would be like old times."
Pit sat opposite him and smiled warmly, "We can still be friends. I'd like to catch up sometime, just not while I'm out with Dark Pit..." Pyrrhon smiled back, "I'd like that. Next week?" Pit nodded and stood up, "I'll text you later then." He let out a sigh of relief as he left the Cafe. He could see Pyrrhon in the corner of his eye, he was starring intensely. "Man...That seemed too easy," he thought, zipping up his coat. "How's your assignment going?"
Pit snapped around to see Dark Pit leaning against the wall beside him. "Dark Pit, I was trying to call you-" Pit smiled and walked towards him, pausing when he noticed the scowl on his face, "What's wrong?" Dark Pit laughed shortly and turned to face him. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe watching you run around with that guy when you told me we couldn't hang out today doesn't sit right with me," he kicked the wall, trying to keep his composure."What? That's not it at all!" Pit exclaimed. "I knew something was off yesterday... that idiot said you were meeting up today." "Hold on- You talked to Pyrrhon yesterday?" He gritted his teeth, "Forget about that... you're here. You lied and you're here." Pit didn't know what Dark Pit was talking about. He had come here to get Pyrrhon to back off, not to hang out. "No no no! I came here to tell him to leave us alone. He's been sending me messages all weekend. Why are you taking this the wrong way?" "Oh that's rich, because yesterday I bumped into him. He went on and on about how you two had arranged to meet up today. I told him to shut up, but there was that seed of doubt. I come here and..." Pit didn't know how to respond, his head hurt from all of this. "Why didn't you tell me? Why are you sneaking around and spying on me?" Dark Pit looked taken back, "I j-just-" "Do you not trust me?" Pit mumbled, looking straight at him.
"I came here to tell Pyrrhon that I wanted to be with *you*. I couldn't leave it because I care about your feelings!" He felt himself grow angry at Dark Pit, his accusations were ridiculous. "Then why did you turn me down yesterday?" He asked, his aggressive tone fading into a nervous mumble. "Wha- I have to finish my assignment! We don't have to hang out every day. Why are you being like this? We've only been together a month," Pit turned around, trying not to let his frustration get the better of him. "I...Maybe this was a mistake," he whispered loudly. "Huh?" "If you can't trust me, then maybe this isn't going to work." Dark Pit grabbed his arm and turned him around. "What are you saying? I just want to protect-" Pit shook him off and shook his head, "I don't need protection like this. I can't do this if you're going to act like this..." Dark Pit stared blankly. "Everything OK here, guys?" Pyrrhon asked from the Cafe doorway. "Pyrrhon," Pit exclaimed. "Yeah?" "Fuck off!" With that, he slammed his hands in his pockets and walked away, leaving Dark Pit behind.
