Pit let his rage carry him forward. He couldn't believe that Dark Pit behaved like that, that he would accuse him of cheating over something like that. "Maybe I'm an idiot, we really don't know each other...do we?"
He let out an annoyed sigh and shook his head. "No- well yeah but..." He paused and took a deep breath, looking up at the sky. He was afraid to to look back, he was afraid of what was happening behind him. He took a step forward but stopped, realising that he was crying. He held his head in both hands and tried to stop, but it kept coming. People passed him, but he could barely see them. "Damn it..." He mumbled, feeling the situation crash down on him all at once. "Was I too rash? I should have talked it out. Why did I..."
He spun around, not really looking where he was going. He just kept going. He rubbed his eyes and tried to focus, he couldn't go home after that.

It took a while, but he finally got the tears to stop. When he reached the cafe entrance, both Dark Pit and Pyrrhon had left already. "Oh no..." He whispered, checking the window, but he wasn't inside. "How far could he gave gotten from here...?" He thought, feeling his chest tighten. He took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. "Of course I know... don't be an idiot." He set off again, walking as fast as he could.
Pit could hear his heart beat quickly as he trudged along. The sky had grown dark suddenly, and was threatening to rain down on him at any minute. "I don't know why I'm doing this. Was I too harsh...I should have stayed and talked it out? Why did I get so worked up? Ugh, I hope he's here." His mind was wondering so much that he barely noticed he had arrived. He looked up to see Dark Pit sitting on the 3rd bench (From the left) at the garden in his school. He was staring off into the distance, clearly unaware Pit was there yet.

Pit sighed and steadied himself. He wanted to say; "I'm sorry for earlier. Can we talk it out now?" But the words got caught in his throat and a gaspy sorry was all he could muster. Dark Pit spun around quickly. Pit noticed that his eyes were red and puffy too, but the black haired boy quickly turned away again. "What are... you doing here...?" He asked through a deep breath. "I...just knew you'd be here. I wanted to apologise for earlier..." He said quietly. "You...but...I..."
Pit sat down beside him. There was an awkward silence between them that made Pit think of the night they stood outside his room after dinner. "You're apologising, but I'm the one who should be," Dark Pit said after a while. "I feel like an asshole for accusing you of something like that. I knew you wouldn't, but that guy..." He fidgeted slightly, avoiding eye contact, "I met him at the shop on my way home yesterday." Pit looked over at him, "So that's why you took so long..." Dark Pit nodded. "He kept going on and on about you two being a thing. He told me about a planned date today and I just laughed it off. Well, I tried to but he planted a seed of doubt and well... when you said you could meet up today...and then-" "I was with him." The silence returned, somehow less tense than before. Pit hadn't been listening the first time, but it made sense that Dark Pit would have been suspicious. He felt bad for not hearing him out before.

"He kept messaging me, I tried to ignore him but it was hard. I decided to talk to him in person and let him know I wasn't interested but...I should have told you. If I had, none of this would have happened," Pit explained, feeling lighter after saying it. "I guess he tricked us both. I can't believe it..." Dark Pit sat back and finally looked at Pit. The brown haired boy smiled, "I'm sorry for getting so worked up. You didn't know, I should have explained...and listened." "I'm sorry for being over protective and not trusting you."
The two smiled and the air suddenly felt comfortable again. "Can we pretend this never happened?" "No, I don't think we should forget it. Let's move on, but learn from it," Pit suggested. "Geez...What an old man thing to say." "Huh? It is not!" They both laughed and Dark Pit took Pit's hand, "I won't forget then." Rain drops began to fall on them as the clouds finally gave out.

The pair walked back to Pit's house, completely ignoring how wet their clothes we're getting. Pit hadn't let go of Dark Pit, almost afraid to. He always felt more comfortable with him around, and he was glad he hadn't ruined that. "Can I ask a question?" Dark Pit asked suddenly. "Sure." "Do you actually have an assignment to work on today?" Pit felt his stomach hit the floor, "Oh no..." "We can hang out tomorrow then?" Dark Pit chuckled after seeing his expression. "Yeah...if I get it done. I completely forgot!"
They stopped outside the gate for a soggy, but overdue hug. "I'll see you tomorrow, ok?" Pit nodded, feeling his eyes well up again. "Yeah...I will."
