A cool breeze rattled the leaves above the angels. They walked hand in hand, the brown leaves crunched softly under their feet. Dark Pit hadn't seen anything like this before. Pit had brought him to another country as a surprise. It was a lot colder here, he was shivering slightly. "Oh no, are you cold?" Pit asked, stopping to examine him. "It's fine. I guess I'm just not used to it," he reassured with a small smile. "I forgot that you're not used to the cold... here!" Pit said as he dragged him over to a fork in the path.
"What's over here?" The dark angel asked as they followed a narrow path away from the colourful trees. "There's a town, they will sell something to keep you warm." "A town? But... won't they notice we're you know, angels." He asked, coming to a halt. Pit thought about it for a second, "Yeah... I guess you're-" He interrupted himself as he noticed the goosebumps on Dark Pit's arms. He frowned. "You wait here, I'll go," he suggested. "Pit-" "I'll only be a few minutes, I promise!" Pit said as he ran off towards the town.
Dark Pit considered following him, but he didn't know where to go. He sighed and sat down on a nearby bench. With no eyes on him, he grabbed his arms and rubbed them to warm himself up. His breath was visible, he watched it disappear as it rose. He noticed how beautiful the forest they had come from was, the autumn colours scattered around the base of trees. He looked down and wondered how Pit was able to stand this cold, despite them wearing the same clothes. He rubbed his hands together and looked down the path Pit had disappeared down. There was no sign of anyone. "It must be too cold..." he thought to himself. He sat back and closed his eyes, enjoying the fresh smell the wind carried. "Maybe the cold isn't so bad."
The dark angel lost all sense of time. He didn't realise how long he had been sitting there, until he heard a familiar voice. "It's a... perfect fit!" Pit as he pushed a knitted hat over his head. "GRAH- Don't sneak up on me like that," Dark Pit shouted, adjusting the rim until he could see. Pit was wearing a long coat and a similar knitted hat. "Heh, sorry! Here, stand up so you can try this on," he said, brandishing a coat for him. He did as he was asked. Pit helped him put it on. His wings felt uncomfortable, but he instantly felt warmer. "How did you get these?" Dark Pit asked as he buttoned up the front. "It was nothing, Lady Palutena lent me some of money they use here. No-one seemed to care about my wings," Pit explained, taking his angel's hand once again.
They continued down the forest trails. The deeper they went, the more leaves that fell. It had created a natural carpet for them to walk along. "Are you... having fun?" Pit asked suddenly. Dark Pit stopped to look at him, "Yeah, I really am. It's beautiful here..." Pit smiled and looked up at the branches above them. The breeze had settled, and the leaves sat still above them. Dark Pit pulled the light angel close to him. Pit looked into his eyes, "It really is." The dark angel kissed him softly, holding the back his head. Pit smiled and wrapped his arms around Pittoo's waist. The angels stayed that way as the wind picked up around them. Red and orange leaves fluttered by on the perfect picture. They let nothing disturb the beautiful end to their Autumn stroll.
