"You're my forever
My slice of heaven on this side of the Mississippi River, baby
You're my infinity, no end to you and me come hell, fire, or rain
Baby, nothin' can change it." I sang as I walked home from school. I walked home hand in hand with my boyfriend, Steve. My brother Ponyboy, was in front of us talking to Johnny about some test that they had to take next week. "What song is that?" Steve asked. "Its called "Grave". Don't really know who sings it though. I like the meaning behind it." I explained to him. He nodded his head and listened to me sing some more.
"No, nothin' can change it
When the good lord calls me home and this life is through
I may be six feet deep, but I'll still be lovin' you
Baby, what we got won't ever die
Can't take diamonds, can't take gold
But I'll take your love with me when I go
I'm gonna take it to the grave with me
You're my destiny, you'll always be with me
Today, tomorrow, all the way to eternity, baby
No last breathe taken on this earth
No concrete tombsew taylor swift suckstone, no amount of dirt can change it
And no, nothin' can change it." I finished. "You have such a beautiful voice." Steve told me over and over again as we walked.
We went to the dx instead of my house. We figured Soda needed someone to talk to. Pony and Johnny went home or to go find Dallas. I'm not really sure which. When we walked into the dx Soda was standing at the counter playing with a pen. And by playing I mean clicking it constantly and not stopping. "Would you stop that? Its really annoying." I said making him look up. "What you two up to?" soda asked. "Just coming to see you. Because you are clearly bored." Steve said.
"Ya think? Not many people have been here all day since all the soc girls are in school." soda said. "Good. you don't need to be around no soc girls." I told him. "Well I'm sure there's some grease girls who need their cars fixed." Steve told him. Then lo and behold JJ Lowe walked in.
"Hey Y/N," JJ said walking over to the counter. "I need a pack of smokes and I think someone cut the brake line on my car," she told Soda. "Just pull the car into the garage, I'll take a look at it," Soda said handing her the smokes. "How much are they?" she asked him. "Those are on me," Soda said winking at her. She smiled at him. "Thanks," she said "Y/N can you go pull my car into the garage?" she said tossing me her keys. "I guess," I mumbled before looking at Steve then walking out to her car. Steve followed me.
"Wish i had a car as tuff as this one." I said as I got in. "I bet you do doll," Steve replied walking to the garage and opening the door. I pulled it into the garage as Soda and JJ walked out. I tossed the keys back to her, and she nodded. "We gotta go. See ya later soda. See ya around JJ," I said. She nodded bye and Soda waved bye and got to work.
"She doesn't talk much does she?" Steve asked. "Not unless she is flirting, stealing, trying to trick you, or hustle you," I told him. "She really is nice once you get to know her though. Unless you get on her bad side, then you're a dead man walking," I continued. "How do you know that?" Steve asked. "We used to be really close. Then she got power hungry and tried to take control. It was before Soda met you. I think Johnny, Pony, and Dally had just started hanging out," I told him. He just nodded. "So...like are you two on good terms or..." Steve said but started to trail off after the "or". "Yea we are on good terms now but it hasn't always been that way," I said.
Steve got real quiet for a while.
"Have you ever thought about the future?" Steve asked. At this point we had bypassed my house and have just started walking. "Well, always. Why?" I asked. "I was just thinking," Steve said looking off into the distance. "That's a dangerous thing Stevie." I joked at him. He chuckled. "Do you see us married some day? With maybe a little kid or two?" Steve asked. "Of course I see us together. I wouldn't be dating you if I didn't think we had a future together. I love you Steve. I always have and I always will.
"Yea, I may be only 16 and everyone says that 16 is too young to know what true love is... but I think that I have found it," I told him. "I'm glad you feel that, because I talked to Darry and Soda..." Steve said getting down on one knee and pulling a little velvet box out of his pocket. "I have loved you since the day we met. I know what I feel when we're together, and I know how flustered and angry I feel when we are apart. What I'm trying to say is... Y/N Y/M/N Curtis, will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?" Steve asked opening the little box. At this point I was almost in tears from pure joy. "Yes Steve!! Yes! I will marry you!" I exclaimed. He put the ring on my finger then kissed me. This was the way that I was truly going to be happy. This is what my life was meant for. Steve Randall truly is my forever.Hey y'all hope u guys liked. I have to give credit to MugglebornJediWolf for editing this and the song is up top where there is usually a pic.
