When Tony emerged again from the training rooms, covered in a towel and shivering, the rest of the Avengers were busy watching Netflix. Percy had mysteriously vanished. After scanning the room for the boy, worried that he would spring up and freeze him again, Tony was satisfied that Percy was not around.
"Where's the kid?" he asked as he sat down as well.
"Percy? He's gone to the bathroom," Steve replied.
How Percy loved showers that had the sprinkler function. He sat down on the edge of the gigantic bathtub and waited patiently for the mist to form. When it did, he tossed a coin through and said, "Oh Fleecy, do me a solid. Show Annabeth Chase."
The drachma vanished as it passed through the mist, and the air shimmered before revealing Annabeth. She was currently talking to friends at university. She turned, saw Percy, swore, and ran her hand through the connection.
"Oops, but that was a good drachma!" Percy exclaimed to the now empty air. He sighed when his phone buzzed in his pocket.
'Hey Seaweed Brain, did you forget I went to Uni?' Annabeth asked through the messaging system.
'Yeah, sorry. Just wanted to tell you that I won't be at camp for a while, the team apparently needs bonding time.' Percy typed back.
'That's cool, I'll tell Chiron when I get back, take care.'
Percy thought about whether to tell her about the monsters he had seen but decided against it. there was no point making Annabeth worried about him, and all the campers could take care of themselves. After the fight with Gaea, all monsters seemed weak.
After the war, Annabeth had decided to go to university to take an Architecture course, not that she needed it. Being super intelligent and all, she was accepted in without much difficulty, and practically aced everything. And Percy couldn't even finish high school.
'Okay thanks, love you.' Percy typed.
'Love you too, take care.' Percy smiled when he saw Annabeth's reply and put the phone away. He closed the shower that was still spraying out a fine mist and jumped out of the bathtub. Time to go bond with the team.
The first thing he saw when he entered the living room was an overturned couch. And then he saw an overturned table. Masking his surprise, Percy looked around some more and saw that there were people hiding behind the furniture, a concentrated look on their faces.
"Uh, what's going on?" he asked as he walked closer.
"PERCY! Come here!" Steve shouted from behind the couch. Percy hurried over, ducking when an arrow flew past his head.
"Okay, now the numbers are even," Natasha sighed as she pulled out some daggers. Percy stared at her.
"What's going on?" he asked again.
"So we were deciding what to watch right? I didn't really mind, but Natasha wanted to watch something scary. Tony, Clint, and Bruce decided that they wanted to watch romance, and there was this whole argument. Then...this happened," Steve explained, motioning around the destroyed room.
Percy nodded slowly. It was basically just the Trojan War all over again, only Avengers version. "Can I just drown them all?" he asked innocently.
"NO! We're trying to get the big remote from them, and they're trying to get the sound remote from us. The person who has both gets to decide," Steve told him. Percy nodded again. It was like capture the flag then, he decided.
"Leave this to me, where's the remote?" he asked just as Tony shot the couch with a barrage of beams. "I swear he's trying to kill me again."
Steve spat out some stuffing from his mouth before replying. "I think Bruce has it, he's behind the chair."
"Give me a minute," Percy whispered and sat down with his back to the couch. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the water molecules in the air. Become one with the water molecules he thought as he remembered his father's tips. Gods that sounded stupid.
After a few useless minutes, he started feeling the familiar tingling in his skin when this trick worked. "Um, Percy? You're vanishing," Steve said in alarm. Percy waved him off, trying to stay concentrated.
"That's meant to happen," he replied just as he felt himself getting dragged along by a water molecule in the air. Next step, find the water molecules near Bruce. That was easier said than done. He scanned the room, seeing each tiny glowing dot and tried to locate the one closest to the chair.
If he didn't get the perfect one, he might end up appearing above Bruce and squashing him or something. Or he would end up halfway across the world again. It all depended on the water molecule.
Bruce was pretty sure he heard something next to him but didn't bother looking to check. Tony was busy whispering his attack plan to Clint, something about throwing a chair and then running for it. Either way, he was certain it wouldn't work.
Then Percy appeared next to him.
"WHAT THE HECK?" he screamed and tossed the remote at his assailant.
Percy caught it neatly and ginned. "Cool, thanks, Bruce," he said and then vanished again. Bruce started at the spot he had been, his heart hammering in his chest.
"Did you see that? DID YOU SEE THAT?" he yelled at Tony, who nodded mutely.
Laughing, Percy reappeared next to Steve who promptly jumped in shock. It was lucky he remembered the water molecule he used first, otherwise, Bruce might have thrown something else at his face. He waved the remote at Steve cheerfully.
"Tada!"
"That was so unfair," Clint grumbled miserably as they fixed the furniture. "He's way too overpowered."
"Hey, not my fault I was made like this," Percy replied, sitting down in the middle of the couch. Should they watch The Little Mermaid? Or should they watch Finding Nemo? Perhaps Finding Dory?
"Percy, please don't make us watch that," Tony mumbled when he saw Finding Nemo on the screen. "Anything but that."
Looking stunned, Percy put a hand on his heart. "I am so offended right now," he said with a hurt expression. Then he put on a serious face. "You have two choices now Tony Stark. Watch Finding Nemo or watch Me Before You, the saddest love story ever."
Tony went pale and waved a white flag in defeat. "Finding Nemo it is then," he agreed. Steve looked at Natasha in surprise.
"I never knew that Tony was so sappy," he said.
Natasha nodded in agreement, "Neither did I."
Hugging a pillow in contentment, Percy watched the movie on the gigantic screen. How he loved team bonding. "I could do this forever," he sighed as the movie progressed.
Everyone's phone rung in unison.
They cast each other a suspicious look and then dug out their phones to see who was calling.
Nick Fury
Percy glared at the name on his phone and tried to control his anger. The water in the kitchen sink bubbled and evaporated. "DAMN YOU NICK FURY!" he shouted and kicked over the table in frustration. "CAN'T WE TAKE A BREAK FOR ONCE?"
Everyone, even Tony, couldn't help but agree.
