The worst thing about being in a large city was that there was hardly any water. That basically meant that Percy was restricted to using Riptide. Well, he could always use the moisture in the air, but that just took too much concentration, and he really wasn't in the mood to concentrate.
If only killing aliens was as fun as killing monsters.
Aliens didn't say anything, and if they did, Percy couldn't understand them. To make things even worse, they were made of metal and probably ran on electricity.
After ushering a bunch of teens into a relatively safe hotel, Percy turned around to see that Steve was heroically rescuing a bunch of policemen from an alien. When the soldier received a bunch of cheering and clapping, Percy couldn't help but glare.
Why didn't he get a standing ovation?
Steering the hovering motorcycle in Steve's direction, Percy flew over. "So, what are we meant to be doing?" he asked sulkily.
"Actually, I don't know. Maybe just go around destroying the aliens?" Steve replied hesitantly.
"The pegasi are doing that," Percy said, pointing to the sky where a pegasus promptly kicked an alien out of the sky.
"Right," Steve nodded. "Why am I not surprised?"
"'Cause I am fabulous and full of surprises," Percy replied, swinging the black sword around lazily.
"You never did tell us how you got your powers," Steve said slowly.
"I think we have more important matters at hand," the teenager pointed out, hurling the sword into the air just as a hovercraft zoomed by. The sword sliced through the machinery easily, falling back down into Percy's waiting hand.
He climbed onto his hoverboard thing and saluted Steve playfully. "See you later Captain, I'm going to decapitate some aliens."
Steve watched Percy leave and sighed. "Hey, wait! No, don't come out of the building!" he shouted, running after a civilian.

Percy leaned over the controls of the machine, pulling out his phone. No, he wasn't going to play Colour Switch, there was time for that later. Opening up the messenger app, he texted Annabeth, occasionally pulling the hoverboard into a nosedive and killing an alien.
'Hey, so there's an alien attack in New York.' he typed out.
'I know, it's all over the news. Let me guess, you're fighting the aliens?'
'Wow, nice guess. I am.'
'...'
Percy stared at the ellipses, not entirely sure what to say anymore. 'Uh, I'm going to go kill some more aliens. Talk to you later Wise Girl.' he slowly texted out. Just as the message sent, he saw an alien heading straight for him and frantically sent the vehicle spinning to the side.
Seeing the alien glare at him, he finally understood why text driving was so dangerous.
Don't text drive.
Breathing a sigh of relief when the alien was shot by Clint, he circled around in the air, occasionally zooming up to an alien to kill it. There was practically a million of them, just milling around and destroying buildings.
Wonder what the repairment cost would be.
Is this sort of stuff covered by the insurance? 'If aliens attack, we guarantee that we will repair the house cost-free!'
