Percy hated research, so he decided to visit Annabeth instead. After explaining his situation to her (using the short version), she spent a few hours thinking about slide structure and forms. Percy had explicitly stated that he wanted the slide to be 'as dangerous as possible', so it wasn't that easy to think of a design.

"Okay, Percy, come over here," Annabeth said after a few hours had passed. Percy was nervously tapping his pen on his leg, mentally counting down the time he had left.

"So, assuming the man's weight is average, then this curve in the slide should send him flying over the side, and if the momentum is not hindered by friction then he should be able to fall back onto the other side. The time would depend on how fast he goes, but I assume that the whole thing should be over within ten seconds, so the distance of the slide would have to be the speed multiplied by the time, which would be around..."

"Annabeth, none of the readers will read that, so please simplify it," Percy interrupted quickly before she got any more complicated.

"Huh, oh, you're right. Um, basically you need to make this," she said, handing over a design.

Percy looked at it, looked at it, and looked at it before actually registering what he had to do. "Thanks!" he exclaimed once he figured it out.

Annabeth sighed and stood up. "How did saving the world go?" she asked quietly.

"Not really as exciting as I thought it would be. Nothing beats beating Gaea after all." Percy replied with a small shrug.

"Mm, I gotta run, see you for the anniversary!" Percy mumbled as he kissed Annabeth briefly.

"Good luck," Annabeth called as he ran off, and he turned around and blew her a kiss before sprinting away again. "He's such an idiot sometimes."

With an hour left to spare, Percy quickly ran back to the Stark Tower and began to build the ice slide. The spring heat was burning down, and some of the water began to melt even before the whole thing was built.

See, this is why you don't build ice slides in spring.

Referring back to the notes, Percy made sure that the slide was built exactly the way Annabeth planned. He didn't want Tony to go flying off and summon the suit, thus ruining their entire plan.

He lifted the water up from the pool he had made, molding it around and occasionally shifting the volume around so that it was even. Once he was sure that it was perfect, he froze the entire structure, watching as the ice spread from the bottom to the top and changing the colour from see-through blue to misty white.

Keeping a hand on the ice to make sure that it stayed frozen, Percy hummed to himself as he tapped the earpiece in his right ear.

"Hello, I'm done here."

"Okay, we're all set up as well. Thor had to go back to Asgard with Loki, but other than that we're all here." Steve replied almost instantly.

"Is Tony ready?"

"Yes, all he has to do is go outside right?"

"Yep, that's all," Percy confirmed with a small smirk. No one knew what was really going to happen. Well, it wouldn't change much anyways.

Finally, the hour passed, and footsteps behind him signalled that R had arrived at the scene. Percy turned around and smiled broadly, waving at his creation proudly.

"Look at this beauty, isn't it amazing?" he asked R happily.

"Sure," R answered with complete disinterest. Percy pouted and took his hand off the structure, confident that it wouldn't melt.

R checked his watch. There was only a minute left before Tony Stark was due to walk out of the door to get a breath of air. It was a habit of his, and HYDRA had been very quick to notice it.

Sure enough, exactly 60 seconds later, the door swung open and Tony walked out proudly. He raised his arms and sighed deeply, before promptly slipping on the ice and tumbled headfirst down the slide.

"AAHHH!" he screamed as the slide sent him flying into the air. Somersaulting impressively midair, he landed on his backside and zoomed down again before flying into the air a few seconds later.

R looked at Percy with raised eyebrows but didn't comment on the dangerous and violent slide.

Watching with childish excitement, Percy clapped and cheered every time Tony flew into the air and shrieked in terror. It didn't even occur to the man that he could have summoned his suit, and the ride was over quite quickly as well.

Sprawling into the dust on the floor, Tony raised his head and stared straight into R's gun.

Percy had already left, as he always did during their missions.

"Um, hi?" Tony waved hesitantly when he gathered himself.

R tilted his head and put the gun away.

"Can you even fight without the suit?" he asked quietly and mockingly. Percy was surprised.

"He never talks to the enemy," he said to Steve. After Tony was on the ground, he had raced up the tower from the other side and was now watching the show from the tower. To anyone on the ground, he was simply a small dot in the building.

"We're going in now," Steve said into the earpiece. "We'll be back soon," he nodded to Percy.

Percy sank back onto the pillows of the couch and watched as the team approached R cautiously. Actually, he had never seen the agent fight with his abilities.

When he saw R smiling, he knew that something unexpected was going to happen.

R was glad that Percy wasn't here to watch, otherwise, they would probably have to talk. In fact, if Percy was here, they would have a large argument that may end up destroying half the city.

As the Avengers approached, he walked up to the ice slide, waiting for the right time. When Natasha and Clint both lunged at him in an attempt to fight, he knew that it was time to execute his perfect getaway plan.

The palms of his hands glowed a fiery red, and flames engulfed the entire ice sculpture, eating away at the art and turning it back into liquid. As the water crashed down on the team, he walked away, evaporating the water that tried to land on his clothes and head.

"Farewell, little Avengers," he smirked as he turned into fire and vanished. "May we meet again."

Percy stared in absolute shock as the pillar of flame died away, leaving the grass scorched and blackened. He knew that R wouldn't be there. No, the man had used a technique similar to his, but obviously, R was much more skilled than he was at the moment.

"He melted my ice slide," Percy whispered sadly.

McFluffy hissed. Gods, he/she/it hated that man.

Okay, well, that's that. Something exciting is going to happen next chapter......
