CHAPTER 13: LOVE AND LUST
CLARY
Sebastian held her there for a moment, his hand clamped on her waist, his lips next to her ear, before he tilted his head down further, and bit on the skin directly below her ear. Clary cursed herself for the involuntary tremble that her body experienced at her brother’s gentle touch. Bile rose in her throat, but that didn’t stop her nerves from reacting to Sebastian’s touch as if it were Jace’s.
Sebastian laughed cruelly, and said “Clary, clary, clary… I told you that you belonged to me, didn’t I? And now, I think your starting to believe me.”
“Jace…” Clary whispered, fighting against her suddenly dry throat. She tried to remove herself from Sebastian’s tight grip, but only to have him pull her back against him roughly.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” He warned, sliding a knife up to her throat. Every time she swallowed, its sharp edge nicked her skin, quickly slicing through the first layer of skin on her neck, but the adrenaline high she was still experiencing prevented her from showing any signs of pain.
“What are you... doing here…?” She managed to spit out.
“I did warn you; I sent you the wings, the note, and my little display in the training room, didn’t I little sis?” Clary nodded, but then gasped at the pain as the knife jabbed uncomfortably against her throat. Suddenly, Sebastian removed the knife from its torturous position, and slowly turned Clary around to face him.
Sebastian looked almost exactly as he did the last time Clary had seen him; dark and beastly, with the beauty of an angel, but without a shred of humanity left, void of everything but lust, hate, rage and jealousy.
Clarys green eyes met his dilated, tunnelling black pupils for a moment, causing her brothers’ lips to curl into a menacing smile, like a dog half way between grinning and growling. Plain white hair fell into his eyes, and Clary noticed it was even longer than the last time when she had seen him – She also noticed the lack of scarlet bloodstains.
“If you scream,” He began, “I’ll kill you.” Clary didn’t doubt him, and she nodded feebly. She figured it was pointless to hide her fear, as Sebastian no doubt sensed it anyway, so she didn’t bother to hide her bottom lip trembling.
“That’s a good girl Clary. Now, if you want this to end without you heading down to the Silent City in a box, you’re going to do what I say, without question.” He demanded, taking a step forward, instantly triggering Clary’s feet to step backwards, until her legs hit the edge of her bedframe.
Her heart pounded so loud that she very nearly couldn’t make out what Sebastian had said. Instantly understanding his intentions, Clary swallowed deeply, and then nodded. “Better.” He praised.
“You know of my feelings for you Clary” Sebastian surprised her by admitting. For a moment, his eyes appeared innocent, child-like.
“There’s a different between love and lust, brother.” Clary retorted, momentarily regaining her confidence.
Sebastians’ eyes flashed with a primal hunger, as he replied “You’re right: Love and lust are different – but just to be sure, you’re going to show me the difference between the two, aren’t you?” He smirked, not bothering to hide the longing in his tone.
At this, he grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her backwards. She fell backwards onto her silken sheets, and with next to no effort, he pushed her up the silken covers until her head rested against the pillows. After removing his shirt and tossing it on Jace and Clary’s already large pile of clothes, Sebastian climbed onto the bed, stopping when he was directly over her.
