29. Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was always a hectic time of the year for my family. I mean it was always between my uncle hosting or us. And I was the baker so you could imagine I had to make the pies and sweet treats.

But ever since I moved to New York it was hard going. It was starting to become the busiest time of the year. And with my birthday and going to Toronto I couldn't afford to fly back home. I wasn't going to see my parents till Christmas because that's the only holiday I planned ahead of time.

So this year I was staying home and watching Christmas movies. Jaime said she'd come over later but I knew she was spending her day with her family. She invited me to go over but I always felt like I was intruding and eating their food.

So she told me she'd bring me a plate of food when she comes over. I would make food but it would be a waste because I'm only one person.

So it was currently 5 in the afternoon and I had got ready even though I wasn't leaving the house. Though I didn't need to go anywhere to look cute. I sat on my couch with my knitted crop top that went with the cute burgundy velvet skirt.

I also wore white stockings and these knee high burgundy boots. I felt like it was Christmas already and it's such a shame that I wasn't leaving the house. I then got a text message.

I set my phone down and smiled, maybe this thanksgiving wouldn't be so lonely. I was going to be with friends and I'm glad I have them, I mean to be alone in Brooklyn and away from family they're going to be my family.
