:D Hello everyone :) thank you so much for waiting for me. I know the last chapter is annoying. We have Cinder and Andrew going on a date together. And you'll probably even hate me even more once you've read this.
NOTE: I decided not to put the scene of Ash watching the Northen Lights on his own or him talking to the BOSS. Instead, I made him meet one of Cinder's competitors in being the Heir. :) If you have any confusion, please tell me. I would love to clarify your doubts. I know, this story isn't the easiest story to understand. Some analysis must be done to fully understand. And for that, I'm so sorry :(
Chapter 25—Make me a FIGHTER
Song: Fighter by Christina Aguilera
Ash
Patience is a virtue.
I scoffed at my own thoughts. But I’m losing all my patience.
Asher Martinez had lost the only person who made him smile.
I have a few confessions to make, and I was quite embarrassed to admit this. It took me all my energy to admit that I was actually disappointed, saddened by the fact that the girl I love chose someone else over me. And I had to be honest that my pride was hurt.
Yes, it hurt a lot, and it felt like thousands of needles had decided to pierce my heart, making me bleed to death.
Yes, my heart continued to shatter as I saw the girl I love walking out of the elevator, laughing at another man’s joke. Andrew offered her his hand. At first, she hesitated, and I thought she was going to refuse his offer. But a second later, their hands brushed each other. They walked out of the hotel with their hands holding on to each other.
Yes, I saw this with my own eyes. I felt rejected, and now, I was starting to wonder what Andrew had that I don’t. From my perspective, I tried my best to be a gentleman towards her, and yes, I’ve done my best. She seemed to be happy around me. I thought I had made it. I thought I had won her heart for the second time. But my thoughts lied to me. I had lost Cinder Van Hoyer for the second time in my life.
I’ve only realized it today that Cinder was kind to everyone. She smiled and laughed in anyone’s company. That girl was the golden girl, the perfect girl any guy would kill for. She was easily cheered up, and she was a fighter. Her burning spirit conquered everything.
And stupidly, I lost her.
But then again, you don’t deserve her.
I shook my head at my own negative thoughts, the same voice that had haunted my life all along.
“Hey man, are you alright?” Ryan’s voice filled my ears, and I woke up form my daydream. Holding the cellphone, I blinked and sighed. I had refused to let my emotions control me, but now, I had given up. My soul had screamed in defeat, and slowly, I was surrendering myself to be swallowed by the sadness and disappointment.
“Thanks for the tickets,” I told him. My voice sounded weak and disappointed. Ryan did not catch my mood and continued with his jokes.
I heard him chuckle from the other end of the call. “The plane tickets to that Northern Lights? No problem. Josephine and I had always wanted you to go out with Cinder—“
“Thanks for the tickets, but I’m not going to use it,” I interrupted through gritted teeth. “I’m too late. I’m very sorry, Ryan. I know it costs a lot of money. I promise I’ll repay you—“
