Hey guys :) I'm sorry for the long wait. I've just returned from an island and finally redeemed my next holiday :D yaay! I hope you guys haven't given up on this book. I've decided to end it in 3 chapters, btw. Anyway, here's another chapter of Breaking the Cinderella Rules. Actually, I'm not quite happy with this chapter. I had no inspiration while writing it and no emotional song to accompany me while writing this.
But anyway, I still hope you'll enjoy this chapter :) vote for quicker updates. I usually update once a week, but if somehow I updated longer, it means I'm having a writer's block or no music xD OH BTW! THE NEXT BOOK COMING IS : THE PERKS OF BEING BELLE. :) The plot of the story is developed better than this story. No worries, killers are there too ;) I'm just attracted by hot criminals :p

Chapter 31—CLUMSY with our hearts
Ash
“Andrew and I are going to prepare for tomorrow. We’re going to go and buy some ingredients to make the plan work,” Cinder announced. She stared at me for a moment, and I looked down. The pity in her eyes made me sick. I shivered inwardly and tightened the blankets around me. She gave me a reassuring smile, but I couldn’t reply it. I felt horribly tired to even move.
Cinder took the wet cloth resting on my forehead and replaced it with a new colder cloth. When she pressed the cloth, I felt a new wave of coldness surging to heal the fever burning inside me. “Tomorrow?” I whispered to her, my eyelids fluttering as I said this.
I hated myself. This strange illness had kept me in bed for hours. I felt useless as a person, unable to do anything. My energy was failing me, and the fever restrained me from moving too much. I was worn out like I’ve run a whole marathon.
By this time, Ryan and Josephine had gone home. Our conversation seemed endless. The kiss with Cinder had spent sparks inside my stomach. But slowly, as the talk went on, the pain returned. Slowly, I was fading away into the background. I couldn’t even focus to see what was going on. Finally, Cinder pulled me towards the bed and literally commanded me to sleep.
“Tomorrow’s the Heir ceremony, remember?” she asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
I blinked, unsure of what to answer. “I might have forgot. So, what are you going to do in the Heir ceremony?”
She nodded slowly at me. “That’s not so typical of you, Ash. You never forget anything.” Shaking her head, she steadied herself before continuing her talk. “I’m not really sure of what I’m going to do in the Heir ceremony. But I have a plan. I know for sure that it won’t run smooth and many people wouldn’t like it. Again, I still want to try. So now, Andrew and I are going to buy the ingredients.”
“I know,” I replied. “You always want to try. Cinder Van Hoyer never gives up, right?” I managed to laugh before I go into a coughing fit.
Cinder stuck her tongue out. “Persistency is all about me.”
Then she waved her hand and made her grand exit out of my room. Outside, I saw Andrew bobbing his head at me before leaving with Cinder. He followed slowly behind her as they headed out of the apartment.
Slowly, I closed my eyes. No matter how hard I tried to sleep, there was always an unavoidable pain disturbing me awake. Unable to sleep, I began to think of myself, Cinder, and us. Sure, we’ve kissed, and she looked quite okay with it. But deep inside, something tugged at my heart. It seemed like us was just impossible.
Why?
If this was really a Cinderella story, then Prince Charming could live happily ever after with Cinderella. Our story was the complete opposite. Ever since we met, we’ve screwed up with many things. Now we’re together in the middle of a situation. We began to realize each other’s feelings in the midst of the Heir Ceremony.
