Chapter 10—Too much DAYDREAMIN’
Cinder
A small blush materialized on my cheeks, and I forced my head down to prevent Ash to see the slightest weakness of Cinder Roxanne. My lips formed a soft smile when he squeezed my hand. By then, the crowd in school was growing insane, screaming and whistling at Ash and I as we walked down the halls. When I turned my head, I saw girls looking at me with murderous eyes. Those eyes could seriously murder me in my sleep. I quickly shrugged before turning back to Ash.
“Why is everyone looking at me with the eye?” I asked him, eying him suspiciously.
He blinked at me, giving me an incredulous look. “What do you mean by the eye?” he questioned back, his ridiculous voice trying to imitate the way I said the eye.
I gestured to the girls who were leaning on their lockers. Some of them lightened their eyes when Ash landed his eyes on them. Another group of girls glowered at me when his eyes were back staring at me. “Those evil eyes looked like they won’t hesitate to murder me,” I pointed out. “It’s creepy.”
Ash laughed, and his hand snaked down to my waist. An obvious blush colored my cheeks, and this time, Ash noticed it. He smirked and squeezed my cheek. “You’re so cute when you blush!” he cooed mockingly.
Instantly, I stepped on his foot and slapped his hand away from me. I grinned in satisfaction when he jumped in surprise. From the back of my head, I could feel those eyes growing more intense, the thirst of murder becoming more evident by the second. I cringed, but the sight of Ash whispering in pain brought back my mood.
Turning my heel around, I walked away from Ash with my maximum speed. Ryan raised an eyebrow and followed me when he saw his friend running frantically towards me. A smug look crossed his face, and suddenly, Ryan was by my side, shielding me from Ash.
“Hey!” I heard Ash protested. “I’m going to take her to class!”
Ryan smiled innocently at him. “I’m sorry, but it looks like Cinder is sulking. She hates you with a burning passion, my friend. I’ll take her to her class.”
I heard Ash muttered something under his breath. He hesitated at first, but when I stuck my tongue out, he relaxed. “Fine, I’ll see you both at lunch!” He winked at me before heading to my opposite direction. A crowd of girls quickly engulfed him, and soon, he disappeared from view. My eyes dropped at how popular he was.
Beside me, Ryan was grinning for no obvious reason. I was about to think that he was nuts when we reached my first class of the day: Math class. A groan escaped him, and he looked at me sadly. Those widening eyes and his frown made me crack up with laughter.
“Just so you know, Math is my favorite subject,” I said proudly.
“You’re lame, Cinder, yet very macho,” he reminded me. He quickly ran away before I could punch his cheek. His footsteps echoed in the almost empty hallway. “Have a great day in Math class!” he screamed.
