He didn't bat an eyelash from my punch.

I leaned to him, eyes narrowing. "How dare you say I had no right! I have every fucking right to do that, especially if it's your pack members insulting MY pack and MY home. You're the alpha, yet you stayed silent as they insulted me in the face?!" I ranted out.

He stared at me before chuckling darkly.

I froze upon hearing the chuckle.

Who laughs after someone punches their furniture?

His head lifted, and his own eyes met mine. They were unbelievably angry, so much so that the waves of anger rolled off him.

The pack members stood up from their chairs, giving us room.

We faced each other in front of everyone. Both of our eyes were pitched black, our fangs growing in length.

Until a hand cut between us, causing us to snap our heads at the intruder.

Or rather, multiple intruders.

It was his Beta and Gamma, including their what I assume mates.

The Beta's hand was between us; I don't know his name. He stared at his alpha, silently pleading for him to stop. Their females sent me a look of sorrow, also silently asking me not to continue this fight.

Our stances relax, and the beta and gamma families all relax.

Without another word, he marched off upstairs.

I scoff, mentally asking why the moon goddess had paired me with such a bold man. When my thoughts clear, the Beta and Gamma stare at me, including their mates.

The pack members had all cleared out, washing and putting the dishes away as they headed for bed. They were trying their best not to cause any further commotion.

I sighed, wiping off the blood on my knuckles before turning to the four of them.

"Thank you for cutting in. If you didn't..." I trailed off.

The Beta smiled, nodding his head. "Don't sweat it. He can be like that sometimes, well, most of the time. We want to apologize for not stepping in sooner. The pack isn't usually like this. They don't always talk badly about others. I promise they'll be dealt with accordingly."

"Thank you guys. I forgive you. I understand how things can be."

The four of them erupted in a small fit of laughter. "No problem. Let's put this behind us."

I was the only one not laughing, still upset that my so-called mate hadn't stepped in.

Suddenly, the betas mate nudged at him, and he looked at her weirdly before a strange sound came out of his mouth.

"Where are my manners? We had forgotten to introduce ourselves. My name is Eugene O'Brien. It's a pleasure to meet you, Alpha Reed. The others can introduce themselves, isn't that right, guys?" He said, forming a cocky smirk on his face.

His mate rolled her eyes but beamed a smile at me, extending her hand for me to shake, "Hi! My name is Serena Bueno. Welcome to the pack, and don't mind this douche here. He's always like this."

Eugene playfully frowned and slapped her butt in a dirty way.

She growled at him. They both gave each other the challenging glare, and I knew they would go down and do it tonight.

Clearing my throat, I took each of their hands and shook it.

Once I gave him my attention, the Gamma shook my hand firmly. "It's an honor to have you with us, Ms. Reed. My name is Corbyn East. I hope to have the chance to get to know you better as a person."

I grin at his sentence, knowing he has made an excellent first impression.

Last but not least, his mate. She was petite and had the biggest smile on her face. "It's nice to meet you, Alpha Reed. My name is Vivian Rose. I hope we can get along."

I studied each one and could tell that their greetings were genuine.

I guess being at this pack isn't so bad after all.

I have new allies.

Beat that jerk face.
