Chapter 26

Jimin's pov

"When I wake up in my room, I have nothing. After the sun sets, I sway as I walk. I'm completely drunk, drunk. I'm swearing on the streets. I've lost it, I'm like a crazy guy. Everything's a mess, living like me." My alarm woke me up. (ft. BTS Fire lyrics)

Last night, I've thought a lot. I heard that JiYeon is suspended from school for a month. Today is her last day of school before stopping for a month. If all the bullyings last time were from JiYeon, I'm not going to forgive myself.

-in school-

V's pov

"GUYS GUYS!" The loudest kid in class barge into the classroom like a rocket.

He has a recorder in his hands.

"My plan is going well..."

"Listen to this!" He said.

"What is it?" As a counsellor of the class, DaeHwi spoke.

"Just listen first." The kid plays the recording.

"What do you want now?"
"Chill girl. I just have one request."
"What is it?"
"Leave. Jimin. Alone."
"Why should I?"
"If you don't, you'll regret."
"Try me."
"Fine. I'll make sure you back off."
"YAH!"
"Awww, what a sticky mess."
"Where are you going? Escaping?"
"You're not going anywhere."
"What...."
Sounds of milk pouring can be heard.
"Can you help me hold this? My shoelace is untied."
"Your uniform... Why did you do this?"
"What is taking you guys so long? Wait, what is going on here?"

The recording ends.

"What's this? Those voices sounded like JiYeon's and XiuYing's. The last one is a bit like Jimin's voice." DaeHwi commented.

"It is!" The kid nod his head.

"Isn't this the milk incident?" Jungkook said.

"So it's JiYeon who threatened her! It's JiYeon who acted like she's innocent!" The class president realised.

"H-how did y-you....get this?" JiYeon stand up, trembling with fear.

"I don't know. I found it in my locker just now. There's a note with it, saying 'JiYeon is the real bully'." The kid shrug.

"IT'S NOT TRUE!! HOW CAN THIS BE?! THERE WEREN'T ANY CAMERAS-" JiYeon cover her mouth for accidentally spilling the truth.

"So you're the real bully!" SeungWoo points at her.

"Woah daebak! We've got tricked by her!" A girl commented.

"Which means the slapping accident was an act made up by JiYeon too!" The kid in front said.

Being exposed, JiYeon run out of the classroom in embarrassment. I smile in victory. Jungkook chase after JiYeon while Jimin remains in his seat, unable to accept the reality. XiuYing's expression is unreadable.

"Aren't you happy that the truth comes to light?" Luhan asked.

"I'm happy. But, something is bugging me. I don't know what." XiuYing responded.

"Maybe I shouldn't have done this...."

-lunch break-

XiuYing's pov

"C'mon, let's go eat." Jackson pulls my arm.

"You guys go, I'll rest here." I declined.

After a few rounds of persuasion, they let me be. I rest my head on my arm, lying on the table quietly. Suddenly, I hear footsteps coming closer to me. I pretend to sleep, thinking who is in here. A nearby chair is being pulled out.

"This person must be sitting there right now." I wondered.

"Are you asleep?" This voice is so familiar, so soft, so calm.

Noticing that I did not move an inch, this person thought that I really fell asleep because he or she sighed.

"XiuYing-ah..." That same voice is back.

Jungkook's pov

Jimin informed us that he'll be walking around the school, so he won't be joining us for lunch. I let the cat out of the bag, telling my hyungs everything.

-flashback to a while ago-

"JiYeon!" I grab her arm, pulling her to the corner.

"What do you want? You guys know everything now!" She said, livid with rage.

"Why did you do that? Why did you lie to us? WHY?!" I shake her.

"You want me to tell you? Fine. I hate her okay? Everything that's hers, belongs to me. I want her to live in hell. Listen, I HATE HER!" She left me standing there like an idiot.

I'm too foolish to believe her and neglect XiuYing till now.

-end of flashback-

"We should apologise to XiuYing. I feel so guilty." RapMonster said.

"Yeah. But, how?" Jhope feel useless.

"I don't think she wants to see us or even talk to us." I look down.

Luhan's pov

"She's not hungry?" I'm worried for my dear cousin.

"Don't worry. She'll eat after school." Jackson pat my back.

"By the way, are you her boyfriend?" Daniel puts down his spoon.

All eyes are on me, waiting for my answer earnestly.

"Boyfriend? XiuYing's boyfriend? I'm her cousin." I replied simply.

"Cousin? I thought you are her boyfriend because you guys are so close to her." Daniel explained.

"I'm her boyfriend!!" Jackson raises his hand.

"Huh?!" Everyone gasped.

Rolling my eyes, I put his hand down with force.

"What?" Jackson look at me, frowning.

"He's not her boyfriend either. We're her cousins." I solve their questions.

"Oh..." Daniel said.

"Phew...luckily...." V appear out of nowhere.

"Where did you go?" JiSung shifts to the right for V to sit.

"Somewhere. It's not important." V replied.

"Hey! I'm her temporary boyfriend until she gets one." Jackson claims.

"Yeah yeah, whatever you say. Seriously, you should get a girlfriend quickly." I shake my head at this childish kid.

He slaps my shoulder, sulking cutely. We laugh at his cuteness as we continue to munch on our savoury food.

XiuYing's pov

"I'm sorry..." It's a guy.
