Jack's P.O.V:

My sister was on the dance team at her school and it was always a "family affair" to go and watch her competitions and performances and whatnot.

And I absolutely dreaded it.

Sure, it was nice to see all these pretty girls dancing around and everything, but what guy in their right mind would want to sit through a lame thing like this. But, I always brought the guys along with me, to keep me entertained.

We sat there, watching team after team, and, I couldn't lie, they were actually pretty neat to watch. The themes they had, the difference between their fast and slow dances. It turned out to actually be a fun time.

One team came up, and they had their sparkly little costumes and they got into position. Throughout their performance, there was a girl that I kept my focus on. She was the most beautiful girl I'd seen all day and I wanted to get a better look at her face. As their performance went on, she eventually made her way to the front, directly in front of me, and we made eye contact. She smiled wide, and I smiled back. She stayed in the front of the form, and I never lost sight of her. After there performance was up, and the team was living, I saw the girl and she flashed me a quick smile before disappearing through the doors.

It was no intermission, and there wasn't another dance team performing for 30 minutes.

"Hey, we're gonna go to the concession stand," I said to my mom. She nodded and we walked off. The line at the concessions was pretty long, but it was better than sitting in that uncomfortable stadium chair for half an hour.

"You're lucky there are pretty girls here bro because I would've bailed a long ass time ago," Nate said as he was checking out some girls who were passing by.

"Well, I appreciate you sticking around," I said. We stood there talking, waiting in line until I felt a small push against my back.

"Oh, excuse me, I'm sorry." I heard a small voice say. I turned around and saw the girl from the dance team from earlier standing in front of me. "Oh, hey." She said with a smile. She was now in a hoodie and sweatpants, instead of her dance costume.

"Hey, you again. Wow, that's a drastic change from what you were wearing earlier." I said awkwardly.

"Yeah, it's much more comfortable." She said with a laugh. "I'm (Y/N), by the way. Nice to actually meet you." She said.

"I'm Jack," I said. I walked off with her and we talked for a while before she had to be back with her team before intermission was over.

"Well, can I get your number before you leave?" I asked. She smiled and nodded. We swapped phones, and out our numbers in each other's phones.

"Well, I should probably get going. It was nice talking to you. I'll see you around." She said with a smile.

"Good luck out there," I said. We hugged and she walked off. Maybe coming to dance contests wasn't so bad after all.
