Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Chapter 3

I waited for the nurse to go out and leave me. I now know what room Cody is, but before I could move I see a person outside the door of the room. I was surprised to see Cody.

"You okay Ray?" He asks while walking towards me. It looks like he only had bruises from the punches because he didn't need any equipment to help him.

"Yeah, I just got punched at the chest and coughed out a little blood. Plus I need a mask that supplies oxygen just so that I can breathe properly."

"Let's get out of here. We can't just stay here and rest, we gotta chase that son of a bitch."

He removed all of the equipment that was helping me even the mask. When the mask was removed I thought I would have a hard time breathing but when I breathed it was normal. I have a few bandages around my body and they covered my right leg. It was the leg I used to kick the big guy at the knee.

"You can walk?"

"Yeah I could walk fine, let's get out of here."

Cody got his cellphone out of his pocket then started dialing a number and waited for it to answer. It took a few minutes but eventually it did answer, it turns out he called his own house. He called another car to pick us up.

"What car is it this time Cody?"

"It's the brand new Toyota Century Luxury Limo. It's really nice, fancy, has secret compartments and most importantly, it's fast really fast.

We walked fast and made sure no one knew who we are. When we were at the front of the hospital, a guard yelled to us.

"HEY YOU! PATIENTS!"

"We better run! Faster Ray! Car is almost here!"

We were running as fast as we can and we didn't want the guard to see our faces. We saw the limo pull up and we entered inside. No wonder it was called a Luxury Limo. It is really nice and it looks expensive, I feel like if I spill a little bit of juice on the seats, I'm gonna be screwed.

"Baylee go go!"

"Yes sir Cody." The car responded. I thought Baylee was a girl driver but it was a COMPUTER. What the hell! It's messed up!

"Ray, I want you to meet Baylee."

"Hello Ray." The robotic voice greeted me and made me a Coke in a glass with ice. "Nice to meet you. If you need anything jsut ask me."

"When did you make this computer thingy?"

"She has a name Ray, I also modified her to have feelings. I made her 2 weeks ago, she has been successful so far. Great computer that I made up, smart and safe driver. Plus she offers us anything, well not really anything it's limited okay."

"So where is she taking us Cody? Chicago?"

"Yup, hunt that bastard and get all the secrets out of him."

------53 Minutes later------

"Hey Ray wake up! We're here."

"Did I sleep the whole time?" I rubbed my eyes and looked around

"Yes, it's already 11:37 pm, you must be really tired."

We stopped by behind a big tree and bushes to find as cover. Good thing the Toyota Century is coated black otherwise we would have been spotted right away.

"You sure you want to go with me Ray? I think you're much safer here." He warns me.

"Cody, I want to kill that son of a bitch! He has killed innocent lives in RiverTown and in BlueWaves Beach! That bitch deserves to die!" I say and try to go out of the door.

Cody stops me from getting out.

"Ray, I refuse you from going out." He stands in front of the door. "I don't want you to be harmed again."

"What is this bullshit coming out of your mouth? I can still fight!"

"No I can't risk it Ray."

I tried to go out by pushing  him. He fell down and when I went outside something unexpected happened. He hugged me tightly.

"I can't risk losing you like you lost your parents Ray. I have been hiding this since the day I met you."

"Cody what the hell are you doing?" He grips me even tighter.

"I... I love... you. I haven't told you this since we started seeing each other."

Then there was silence. All I could hear is the wind blowing the leaves. I am speechless, I have never thought about love for a very long time.

"Cody, I could take care of myself. You should have known me better! You were the one with me everytime we train! I could take care of myself."

Cody finally let go of me and out of nowhere he said "Fuck it." Then he fucking kissed me. It took a few minutes before he could let go of his lips.

"Ray, I did that because there is a chance that I might never see you again."
