Chapter 27

"Hey, where are you? Are you okay?"

"I can't talk too much right now but all I can say is if you see a bell ringing , you can find me. But I'm alright, hope you are too."

He hangs up. What does he mean by that? If you see a bell ringing? What does that mean? Does it mean he's near a church?

"Sis who's that?" Dan taps my back.

"No one." I answer.

"If there's no one then why did you answer?" Dan eyes me suspiciously.

"Just a friend of mine asking how I was."

"Okay." Dan is still eyeing me suspiciously. I just go inside the gym and meet with my other cousins.

"How's it going so far? I have been busy with my job and I'm not up to date with what's happening in the family so far." Tim sits down and everyone else sits down on a big round table with red cloth covering it, it's a private room where we are right now.

The gym is really big and some part of it is private and only the Joley's can access these private areas.

"Well, nothing interesting has happened yet for the past few weeks. Army is hard though, it's also a bit stressful." Heber sighs. From what I know, joining the army is hard now. Considering the terrorist attacks and threats are increasing this year.

"Ray, come here." Stephen tells me.

I stand up and go with him at another private area. This time it's smaller and a different theme for the walls. Each room has a theme, the room a while ago was the Sea Theme. This time it's the Jungle Theme.

"Did you know that your father isn't really your father?" Stephen asks me.

The question struck me like lightning. I don't want to talk about it again, but if it's my brother or my cousins I'm just fine.

"Yes, how did you know?"

"Cody spilled me some information. I know that you know about it because Lars told you right?"

Cody, that son of a bitch.

"No, Kyle told me before."

Stephen makes his thinking face again. Stephen is smart and he could solve most of my problems.

"Because if Kyle told you before, it means the CIA is hiding something. Something about your dad."

I don't trust fully Kyle or Javièr, but Cody? Why would he keep secrets from me? We have a always been best friends and we share our problems and secrets with each other, we both even made a rule to not keep anything from each other.

"You want me to call your friends?" Stephen pulls out his cell phone.

"Yeah, tell them to come here." I stand up and we go back where Tim and the others are.

"Well we have to go now." Tim looks at his watch.

"Bye guys."

They leave the room and that leaves me, Dan, Heber, and Stephen again.

"Shit." Stephen leaves the room and runs.

"Where are you going?" Heber asks Stephen.

"Emergency Mission."

We run to Stephen as he leads us to another room. This room looks like a function room for guests, Stephen flicks the switch 4 times and it opens a door. It's a secret door.

"Is it really important? Because this room is only for dire situations in a mission." Heber goes down the stairs.

The secret door leads to stairs going down to a big room. The big room has a big screen against a wall and there's a big round table at the middle with guns on top of the table.

"Why? What's wrong?" I look around the room and find high caliber weapons on the walls.

"Lars has hostages and threatens to kill them in 18 minutes. In exchange is you." Stephen looks at me. "He has currently 13 hostages with him right now."

That's a lot of hostages.

"What's even worse is he has the Prime Minister of China as one of the hostages. Also the Secretary of Defense of Russia, they had a meeting until Lars suddenly comes out of nowhere and ambushed them. The exoskeleton armor they are using is effective against soldiers or guards." Stephen gets a handgun.

"What's your plan of action?"

"Our plan is to assign soldiers around the area and ambush them. But that's what we have so far, it's hard to get a clear shot because of the exoskeleton covering them."

"Why don't you use armor piercing bullets?" I look at them as if they're dumb.

"Oh yeah." Stephen thinks about it.

"We can't do it. It will take us time to get those bullets. We only have 16 minutes left so we better hurry." Dan grabs a grenade and an assault rifle.

I just get two handguns and a nunchuck. We are all set so we go back up and back into the car. Dan drives again and he is now breaking the limit of 120 kilometers per hour and is now going 180 kilometers per hour.

We arrive at the place where they are being held as hostages and it's surrounded by S.W.A.T, Police, even soldiers. We still have 8 minutes to spare but the situation is getting dire.

"Release them or we will go there with brute force!" An officer on the megaphone says.

No one answers back. The officer sighs and sees Stephen.

"Stephen! Thank God." The officer briefs Stephen on what to do. After a while Stephen gets a suitcase on top of one of the police cars and he opens it.

I see a Baher-23 rifle. He gets it out and runs to the second floor of the building across the hostages. We weren't able to go with him but we expect it to be a heavy gunfight so we stayed.

After a while we hear someone shouting from 3 to 1. After the countdown I heard a gunshot and the officers breached the building. We trail behind them and I hear another gunshot, but it was coming from behind us. It was too late to realize that we were ambushed. Behind us I see more and more people with exoskeletons come towards us with P90s.

"This is serious." Heber raises his eyebrow and loads his gun.

"Tell me." Dan smiles.
