Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Chapter 34

I'm not exactly a hero, but if people need help I will sacrifice my own life just for them. My heart races as fast as I could move my feet. I see the barrel of the gun pointed directly at my face, I guess this is the end line for me. But it wasn't.

"No!" A dark figure wearing black clothes pushes Mr. Wu out of the way before he pulls the trigger. The figure and Mr. Wu lands hard on the floor until they fight.

I run straight to Cody who is still bleeding. I could see him still breathing well but the blood is flowing out uncontrollably.

"Ah shit." I put a piece of cloth to cover the wounds but it seems that I only made the bleeding worse. I look over and I see more employees reveal their identity, they're sleeper agents. I see Tyler, Kyle, and Javièr fight them.

"Who even are you?" Mr. Wu rips out the dark figure's hood to reveal someone I didn't expect. You would expect me to say it's one of my cousins, or even my own brother Dan. But it had to be fucking Jason.

"A person who you would not expect." Jason punches Mr. Wu so hard at the face that I could hear a bone crack. "We need to get out of here now."

Kyle finish off the last few agents as we run going back up. Tyler and Javièr carry Cody. Along the way back up we pass by some dead guards and it's suspiciously quiet.

"I had to kill some of them just to get to you people." Jason leads us and moves the dead bodies to the side to give way.

"What were you even doing here?" Javièr pants as he is having a hard time carrying Cody. His wounds are still bleeding but not as worse as before.

"Long story. Let's talk later. Is he still breathing?"

"I'm still alive!" Cody shouts and hyperventilates.

"That's one way to know."

We eventually reach to the top and we could see people running for their lives.

"We have 30 seconds to get out, if we don't get out we will die."

"Wait, did you plant a timed bomb in CIA headquarters?" Javièr looks at the building looking worried and confused.

"Don't worry, I only put bombs at key points of the building. It will only make it collapse but not entirely destroy it."

I see S.W.A.T and police outside the building signaling everyone to run. The police enter first and then more people come out.

"I'm sorry, but this needs to be stopped now." Jason looks at his watch and I see 8 more seconds before detonation.

Silence.

"Did it not activate?" I see no explosion nor damage to the building.

We stop holding our hands to our heads.

"I guess it won't blow up." Javier's face shows relief.

BOOM!

"NEVERMIND!" We all jump to cover as pieces of the building fly everywhere.

The explosion made me deaf for a few minutes before hearing everything again.

"Come on let's go." Jason holds my hand as we run with the others.

"Where are we even going? We are in Washington and we just blew up the CIA headquarters. It would not take long until we are exposed." I see the road filled with parked cars and police cars going to the headquarters.

"I'll just show you."

We run a few more blocks until we reach... A barber shop. I was expecting a secret lair or something from a thriller spy movie, but you can't have everything.

We enter the shop and I see only one barber in a big space full of barber equipment and mirrors, just like your average barber shop.

"Well, ye'r back boy." The barber who's accent is surprisingly Irish talks. He is about twice the size of me and he looks intimidating.

"You can stop now in your disguises Leo and Neo." Jason removes the barber's outfit to reveal two people. I'm guessing these are Leo and Neo.

"Really Jase. We were so cool." The shorter twin's face turns grumpy.

"Stop being a baby Neo. This is the real world." The taller one who's name seems to be Leo pulls Neo's shirt closer to him. "It's a matter of life or death."

"Stop it you two. Oh and these people with me are my..." Jason raises his eyebrow.

"Friends?" Leo smiles.

"Who are these anyway Jason?"

"Well you know their names already. The shorter one is Neo and the other one is Leo. They are twins. These guys are my cousins in my mom's bloodline, I dislike my mom but not my relatives in mom's side."

"We saw an intruder come here a while ago. He's super tough but we took care of him by using a tranquilizer." Leo pressed a secret button on the wall to reveal stairs going down to like a dungeon. There is a person in a cage that looks strikingly familiar.

"He's awake, suprisingly." Leo opens the cage door.

The person has tape on his mouth and rope tied around him with handcuffs. He is wearing a maroon V-neck with skinny pants. Neo carefully removes the tape to reveal...

"Dan?" I sudeenly recognize his face. His face and clothes are a bit dirty but he doesn't have wounds or scars anywhere.

"Ray?" Dan tries to shake the rope off. "Are you friends with this criminal?" He looks at Jason.

"Criminal? Oh right." Understanding the circumstances, he is right. Jason is a criminal. Bombing CIA headquarters is one hell of a way to become a criminal.

I get the key from Leo's hand to unlock Dan's cuffs and untie the rope. He immediately stands up and nearly punches Leo but I stopped him.

"Wait so, he's your brother?" Jason suddenly shoots a look at me. It's like saying, "You messed up Ray. Well fuck."

"Why did you bomb CIA headquarters anyway?" I glance at Jason. Vanessa is curing Cody's wounds upstairs, Tyler is helping her while I'm with Kyle and Javièr.

"There is a famous mercenary for hire and he's extremely skilled. And this certain someone who I couldn't track called him to kill somebody in the building."

"Who was he assigned to kill?"

Jason sighs and closes his eyes. "You."
