Chapter 33

"What are you doing here?" Two guards in black suits and black glasses point guns at us. "Get down!"

"Relax guys, it's me." Cody shows himself

The guards put down their guns and escort us to a metal door with a keypad and a keycard-shaped hole. The corridor is made of glass except the floor and I could see a giant ravine around the corridor.

"Looks like they mined out this entire area." Javièr raises his eyebrow, he whispers me something. "This is a fake ravine by the way. It's man made, the CIA thought it looked cool so they mined this area out."

I let out a small laugh. Even the CIA wants to look cool.

"You type the code and we hand you the key card." One of the guards tell us. He's like an orc when he talks, he skips words and his accent is orcish.

Cody types in the code and the guard opens the door. Inside is a really really big room. You could probably fit an entire airplane inside this room, it's enormous.

"Control Room." Cody doesn't look surprised.

I see Cody's Father roaming around the room. And he looks surprised and angry to see Cody.

Cody's father sighs heavily, his face shows a sad expression.

"Why are you here?" Cody's father asks us. He looks at Cody. "This place is classified and not for kids. This is serious business."

"We have something to tell you dad." Cody says.

"This better be important and something worthwhile."

We go upstairs with a big room and with a big round table with chairs surrounding it. Cody's father gestures us to sit at the chairs.

"Okay." Cody's father sits down. "What's this all about?"

"You know Lars Rolando?" I ask him.

"Ah, the guy who killed the Prime Minister of China and nearly caused a war against US with China. I know him, why?"

"An unknown caller has told us that there will be an attack bigger than the last one. He, or she, said that this attack will happen in Minnesota in just about 4 days tops. We also purposefully went down here to use "God's Eye" to find and locate the unknown caller."

Cody's father sighs again. It looks like he's either stressed, or something has been bugging him lately. I think his name was Wu Evans. He's Chinese but he moved here to the US and found a job.

"Look, I know you wanted to help but." Mr. Wu looks at Cody. "You're mother is kidnapped. And we have traces showing to Minnesota about her disappearance. She was doing an operation she was leading until, she was kidnapped."

I could see Cody's face turn angry and sad at the same time.

"What was the operation." Cody's eyes started to get wet.

"Classified. We still aren't sure it's Lars who kidnapped her but, we do have some traces of her kidnapper leading to Lars."

"Why do you keep on telling me it's classified. Tell me why. TELL ME!" Cody punches the table. "WHY?!"

Mr. Wu is just calm. He does look angry but it's obvious that he's holding back his pain and anger.

"Look, I know your mother is kidnapped, but being angry is not the best thing to do now. We need to be calm and collected until we can find your mother." Mr. Wu sighs again.

"Why are you so calm? YOU'RE WIFE IS KIDNAPPED, HOW COULD YOU BE SO CALM?! ARE YOU CRAZY?" Cody starts crying. I don't know what to do in this type of situation, should we leave or just stay?

"We'll just... go outside." Javièr holds me and Kyle as Tyler and Vanessa follow us going out.

"That shit was crazy. It's my first time seeing Cody and his dad in a fight." Javièr pants.

"Is he usually okay with his dad?" I look in the room as Cody is still getting angry at his dad. Mr. Wu is a great man with many achievements, I wonder how does he deal with Cody sometimes.

"We should explore this place, I haven't been here before." Kyle looks around.

"Sure."

We start at the right side. It was filled with big servers for the computers, obviously. Next section in the right side was another room with a big TV screen showing Earth. The door is also labeled "God's Eye". Beside it is another big screen with people operating computers.

It's hard to explain the rest considering I don't even know what they're supposed to be. Most of the parts in the room aren't even labeled yet, maybe this is still under construction.

RING!

I look at my pocket to find out it was my phone. I answer it.

"Hello?"

"Sleeper agents. Everywhere. Watch out fo- the followi-"

Puzzled by what he said, I asked him.

"What do you mean?"

The line hangs up. Who are these unknown callers anyways? What does he mean by sleeper agents?

I stand for a while scratching my head. We go back to where we left Cody with Mr. Wu, before going in Cody goes out.

"Hey is it oka-" Javièr gets interrupted by Kyle.

"Ow! What's wrong with you?"

"Just shut up." Kyle's eyebrows curves down. This is pretty normal to me already. Javièr just rolls his eyes.

"Cody wait." Mr. Wu calls Cody to go to him.

I see a gun-shaped thing in Mr. Wu's pocket. My mind rushes to find out that it's a gun with a silencer. I run as fast as I can to Cody, before I could warn him I could hear Mr. Wu's words sink deep in my mind, it was so clear.

He puts his mouth to Cody's ear and says the words slowly while pointing the gun to Cody's chest.

"I'm sorry." Then I hear a shot, then another one, then another one.

Cody's body jerked three times while the gun was being shot to his chest, and you could see three clear bullet holes with blood ripping out of them.

Speechless, I run towards Cody. While, who I think is Mr. Wu was pointing the gun towards my head.

A/N

So sorry for the late update! I was having some problems with the story, rewriting it again and again for no less than 8 times until I found something that could fit this chapter.

I'll also want to thank my "friend" for texting me and encouraging me to make more chapters. I won't tell his/her name, bcuz I know my friends read my stories.
