Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Chapter 22

Ray's POV

The longer we stay here the more we waste time. We need to do something.

"Gear up." Cody gets up as we all leave the room. This is like the 20th time he said gear up already.

"So what's the plan?"

"Cody will sneak up the armory and hopefully get some guns and vests without anyone noticing. Javièr and Kyle will distract the people in the surveillance room while Tyler and Vanessa get a car. I will go with Cody and meet up at the front in about 35 minutes."

We go directly to what we're supposed to do. Cody and I go upstairs and go straight and left to see the armory door. It was locked so the only option to go in is through the vents. There are some people roaming the halls but most of those people are guards so we better keep an eye out.

The vent is dark and luckily Cody brought a flashlight. We were going through some turns until we are directly above the armory. We are the luckiest people in the world. There are no cameras nor people inside the armory the whole time when we were inside. Now our next problem is getting these equipments and guns outside and into the vehicle without no one seeing us. Now this is really hard, this is some Mission Impossible shit.

"Keep some guns here." Cody hands me a duffel bag. We have a few guns and vests so everything fit inside the duffel bag. The handguns are inside our pockets to make the bag seem light.

"This will help our situation?" I ask Cody. Our biggest problem is there is a metal detector going outside the building.

"We'll find a way later. For now we have to see Javièr and Kyle at the front."

We go to the entrance of the building and we see Kyle and Javièr. I also see Tyler and Vanessa inside a van. It looks like a Black Ford Transit.

"Kyle and I have a way of going outside. Kyle and I will go outside and you guys go upstairs at the side and drops the guns and equipment and we will catch it. After that, you're clear to go out."

Like the plan, Javièr and Kyle go outside while Cody and I go upstairs. There were some guards eyeing us suspiciously while we were going to the side of the building.

"I'll catch it!" Javièr jumps and catches the duffel bag.

"Now catch this properly. These are handguns be really fucking careful." I drop the Beretta and Kyle catches it.

We're all set and all we need is to go outside and mission is complete. It was going smooth until Cody's mom stop us at the entrance.

"Where are you two going?" Cody's mom ask with her tone kind of angry. Looks like she knows about what we are doing.

"Nothing mom. We're just going outside for some fresh air."

"I don't think you are allowed to do what your gonna do Cody. You two come with me." Cody's mom points to Cody and I and we go in a room near the entrance.

"I know what you're doing kids. And it's really dangerous. Your life is on the line, this is not a joke." Cody's mom eyes Cody sadly.

"We know that mom." Cody talks seriously.

"This is a lesson for you Cody. You can't do everything that you want."

"I know."

"What am I doing?" Cody's mom wipes tears from her face. "Just be careful Cody. Don't get yourself into trouble."

"Thanks mom." Cody hugs his mom. I feel super awkward and I feel that this is time just for Cody and his mom.

"You're just like your dad. Risky but knows what to do right. It feels just like yesterday I was changing your diapers." Cody's mom tears up.

"Mom, knows not the time."

"Oh right." Cody's mom wipes her tears. "Not in front of the person you like."

"Mom!"

Cody's mom laughs a little bit and hugs Cody again.

"Cody you could go out. I'll talk to Ray first."

Cody leaves the room. I feel tense and scared for what is gonna happen next.

"Is Cody overdoing it with him liking you?"

Well that question came out of nowhere.

"Actually yes."

"Cody is so like his father. What did he do?"

"He kissed me." I say it straightforward.

Cody's mom suddenly stop to her tracks and laughs.

"Soo like his father. You can go with your friends now."

I leave the room and leave the building as fast as I could, I see the van and I enter inside.

"What did my mom tell you?"

"Nothing really. She said you are just like your dad."

Cody looks at me for a few minutes. Maybe he doesn't trust what I'm telling him.

"Next stop, the docks."

"Docks? Why there?"

"We have heard in their radio that lars is expecting a big shipment of materials and supplies for his exoskeleton project. The serum is a shortage so they are also expecting for a shipment of materials."

"Well it's still 4:28 in the afternoon, what time will it be at the docks?"

"6:00-7:30. They weren't sure what time it will specifically be there."

"We have to be there first to ambush them and kill the guards before they arrive so we have the advantage."

"Is it okay to not kill them? I think it's overdoing it."
