Chapter 9

"I'm gonna find that son of a bitch." Cody gets his Mac and started opening an app. "Javièr help me code this."

I'm gonna be bored just staying inside, trust me I have done this countless times and I get bored when I stay inside the house. What I usually do is go to the mall, or just drive around town. I know it's dangerous, but I would rather be threatened to death than get bored.

"Guys I'll just go to RiverTown Mall." I get my bag and I just put extra clothes in there.

"I'll go with you." Kyle and Cody say at the same time.

It was really awkward for a few minutes because of the silence. I still don't want to remember the kiss.

"You go." Both of them said to each other.

I eye them. "Make up your goddamn mind!"

"You go." Cody tells Kyle.

"No, I think you should go." Kyle tells Cody.

I could see Javièr smiling and nearly laughing but I eye him seriously. He is holding back his laugh and is smiling instead.

"How about this." Javièr decided to speak up. "For double the safety, both of you go with Ray."

It took about a minute and a half for them to fucking decide. I mean all you need to say is 'yes or no'.

"Kyle go with her, I-I'll track down Jason with the help of Javièr." Cody grabs Javièr and goes to the second floor.

"Well. Will you go with me or not?" I ask Kyle. "Bring what you need. And no guns. Well maybe some handguns but make sure the metal detector doesn't detect it."

We started walking going to the mall, along the way I see suspicious people. Maybe it's just me going paranoid but still, I have to be alert for anything unexpected to happen.

"So. What happened the last few weeks?" Kyle asks me while getting a drink out of his bag. "I was worried because of Jason and you weren't showing up in class."

Okay the 'I was worried' part is a bit too much for me to handle. I told him every single detail until we have arrived in the mall entrance.

"So Jason is killing innocent lives for no reason?" I ask Kyle as we enter. Luckily the guns weren't detected. We have been taught by our teacher (I don't know why.) to break the rules.

"Well, we don't have all the answers to your questions."

We ate in a nice restaurant and we stayed there for about an hour. Then we started roaming the mall to find a place to kill time. Then I see my friend in McDonalds.

"Lily?"

"Mhmph!" She was eating a burger and she was shocked to see me and Kyle. "Ray?"

She started hugging me and she was so happy to see me.

"Where have you been for the past few weeks? I was so worried, Javièr told me you were kidnapped!" Lily hugs me tightly.

"Javièr? That lying son of a bitch."

"Why are you in the mall with Kyle?" Lily smiles and eyes both of us. "Is this a date going on?"

"Shut up. This is not a date, and don't spread fake news around the school." Lily is known for spreading secrets and she gossips always, we all have that one friend.

"Then why are both of you all alone together in the mall?" Lily laughs and smiles while finishing her food. She goes close to me and whispers me something. "Why is Kyle holding on your shoulder the whole time?" She smiles.

I whisper to her. "He's just protecting me you dumbass."

"Ayiee!" Lily shouts and some people even look at her. "Sorry!"

"Ray? Hello?" My earpiece transmits Cody's voice. "We have news that Jason has people in the mall right now. Keep an eye out for anything suspicious."

I look around the surroundings and I see at least 3 suspicious people already. First one is a guy wearing very unusual clothes. Second is a guy in a restaurant with another suspicious person.

"Earth to Ray? Hello?" Kyle tells me. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry Kyle and I have to go now. See you Lily!"

"Bye!" Lily tells us back.

"Why what's the problem?" Kyle asks me but sees people behind us following us. "Jason's bastards are following us."

"Let's go over the debris back at StarBucks. We can lose them there."

The StarBucks is still not yet fixed and it's still under repair from the explosion a few weeks ago. We did lose them but more men suddenly surrounded us. It was unfair because it was 19 to 2 people.

"Hello, Ray." Jason comes out. "You know, I think it has gone too far and we might as well kill you right here, right now."

"This time, my guys are genetically modified, they don't feel pain, they don't complain, and most importantly they follow what I say. Thanks to my scientist for this masterpiece he has created." Jason taps the guy on the back and whispers to him something.

The guy suddenly pulls out two Uzi's and started shooting non stop. We spread out and went behind cover, I called Cody.

"Cody?"

"Yeah?"

"We need backup. Shit!" I got shot in the shoulder and was bleeding.

"We are on our way. In about 40 seconds."

"Hurry up you slow bastard! We're getting shot at!"

Kyle throws me a Revolver and I love it because of the power and accuracy of this gun. It's fully loaded and a couple of guards of the mall started coming in the gun fight. They were easily shot at in the head and fell down the ground. Kyle got an AK47 out of somewhere and started distracting them while I shoot at them. Good, 2 down, 17 more to go. 6 people where shooting at us while the others are causing mayhem in the mall. Killing more innocent people.

Then Cody's men came out from the top while Cody was sniping from a distance. Shit is going down.
