Chapter 36

"Union station is where we need to go."

It's only one ride from here to Minnesota so it should be no hassle.

"That's far away if we just walk. It's not even 5 kilometers, it's 5 miles."

Minnesota. The country is beautiful, when I settle down I want to live in Minnesota. But maybe I'm gonna change my mind because Lars is gonna bomb it at this point.

"Are these two gonna join?" Javièr points at Leo and Neo.

Jason thinks about it for a few seconds before saying.

"No. Absolutely no."

"What? Come on!" Neo shouts. He's kind of a big baby already.

"Come on. Please?" Neo pleads.

"No."

"Pleease?"

Jason justs facepalms. "Okay fine. But always, ALWAYS, follow what we say okay?"

"Yes!" Neo says out loud happily.

"Then who's driving?" Leo raises his eyebrow and looking at everyone.

I personally know how to drive but I'm not the greatest at it. I remember running over a duck once and it was disgusting. Anyways, I am not volunteering on driving.

"I can drive." Cody says sluggishly. He is still feeling down from what happened earlier. I don't know how to comfort him in any way.

"What car?"

"Just a white van. Making it less suspicious." Leo gets the car keys and throws them to Cody.

"Actually, it will be more suspicious since it will be suspected more." Javièr stands up.

"What do you mean?" Leo looks at Javièr with a puzzled face.

"Because over the years police have been strict with vans here. Since there were cases of child molesters staying in vans and picking up random children from their parents." Jason sighs heavily.

"Are there any other options?" I look at Leo. There has to be another option.

"Well, there is none."

"So, walk?" Tyler looks at everyone in the room.

"That seems like our only best option. But it leaves in a couple of hours."

"Fuck it. We're driving the van."

Less than 5 minutes later everyone seems to be prepared. Meanwhile, I'm still worrying about my hygienic situations like taking a bath, or even combing my hair. Hell, even brushing my own teeth.

"How old is this thing?" Cody holds the wheel. He brushes off dust on the driver's side.

"7 years, it's really old." Leo sits at the back seat.

"You two dimwits stay at the very back of the van." Jason opens the back.

"There are no seats though." Neo looks worried but still sits down on what looks like the car mat except extremely old and dirty.

I look around the van and it looks like there are so many dents and some parts of the paint have been scraped off, still white nonetheless. Inside smells like several animals died at the same time and was never taken out. It smells horrible but we have to close the windows so our faces won't be seen. The air conditioning system of the van is broken so we just have to sweat and endure the heat and smell of this
van.

I sit down on the back with Vanessa and Tyler but Jason offers me the front seat. What a gentleman. I just take the offer before he takes it back.

"Let's go."

After a few minutes I start to close my eyes. I try to make them open as much as I can. This has been a habit for me, this has happened everytime I'm inside a car. It's weird and annoying.

After what seems to be 1 whole hour of fighting my eyelids from sleeping, well for me it seems like 50 minutes but I really don't know anymore at this point. Finally reached the station.

"We're here finally. It smells like Hell in here." Javièr opens the door as Cody just parks the van in front the entrance blocking the entire road.

"Just act naturally, not suspicious then we won't be caught okay?" Jason is the one in the front. He seems to know everything here.

The station itself is not big not small, just regular sized for me. There are so many people here so we might as well blend with the crowd. There are at least 3 checkpoints before we could jump in a train, and there are a lot of cameras monitoring everywhere.

"Stay together. You two idiots know the drill right?" Jason slips into a group of people while we're still apart.

"Holy shit. How many people are here? It's not usually like this." Cody starts bumping into people and starts attracting attention.

I was looking at Cody until Jason grabs my shoulder and pulls me out of the way of a person pushing a cart full of bags.

"Umm.. Thanks."

"Be careful next time." Jason smiles and shrugs.

"Hey!" A police officer shouts and talks to the radio.

"Shit. Run fast okay?" Jason takes off like a cheetah. Running fast through the crowds before entering a train.

A group of cops then started running towards us.

"Hey." Cody stands beside me as we both run to the train.

The train wasn't leaving anytime soon but the police was coming close so we had no choice but to split up. Jason and the rest of the guys went to the left train, while me and Cody when to the train on the right. The gap was too big for us to transfer to the train leaving to Minnesota so we stayed and hid.

What we didn't know was that the train where Jason is in with the rest started moving.

"Run!" Jason shouts as me and Cody run through cops holding tasers.

The train started gaining speed and then as soon as the train was leaving the station Cody grabbed the handle bar and carried me inside.

Cody started panting and sweating from what he did earlier.

"Thanks." I smile as Cody just nods.
