It's 4am, whoops. I guess I'll write. Looks like someone's not sleeping tonight.
This term is well known, and I'm just going to say what I consider it, and list some key traits and different types of Mary Sues.
Mary Sue
A Mary Sue is a character or OC that is, "perfect" and seemingly flawless, expect for the fact that they're a sh*tty character. They're only, "flaw" is usually being, "clumsy" or, "shy". Those ain't flaws. Unless it actually negatively affects themselves and others, and they have other justifiable flaws, they don't count. Usually the writer of a Mary Sue wishes to be this character and they are commonly perfected versions of the writer. A Mary Sue is also very powerful and if it's an OC, then it usually destroys canon. Common Sue weapons are scythes, elemental swords and other things, rip offs of other character's/canon character's weapons, excessive varieties of unnecessary weapons, and etc. Sues also usually have a flamboyant weapon or lots of powers. This may seem like a cool thing to do, giving your character lots of powers, but it ain't. Give them 1-2 powers at the most. And tone down the weapon. No one goes around killing people with a scythe. Imagine seeing that on the news, "Weird flamboyant girl kills woman with scythe!". Scythes are strictly fantasy weapons, and we want to keep Creepypasta moderately realistic and not too fantasy like.Gary Stu
Just a male Mary Sue.Angst Sue
Angst Sues are also known as Anti-Sues, and are very tragic and are always getting others to pity them. They can have Mary Sue characteristics, but usually are the opposite. They are, "imperfect" and tragic characters, and are just as annoying as Mary Sues. They have tragic backstories and are very angsty, usually having a cocktail of wrongly portrayed mental illnesses. The actual and only sad thing about them is how common they are, and how annoying it can get to try to find a good Creepypasta OC without being an Angst Sue. I get it, I completely understand that Creepypasta is built off of negativity and have to have some kind of angst within them. So many people overdo it though, and it gets to a point where they're so, "imperfect" that it made a name for itself. Don't go over the top with the angst. Many Sues are annoying but not rare, so I hope this helped at least a bit. I don't really think I'll use the Sue terms when reviewing, but remember not every character is perfect and that's fine. That's what makes it a good character.
