dear ivo,
"why are you avoiding me? i thought we were friends."
that was the first thing i heard when i got out of the bathroom during lunch. i just kept walking. it probably wasn't directed at me.
"teddy!"
i turned around and there you were. why you were talking to me, i had no idea.
"what was that?" i asked.
"why are you avoiding me? i thought we were friends," you repeated.
"we are."
"then why are you avoiding me?"
"i'm not."
"oh yeah? 'cause turning and walking the other way when you see me isn't avoiding." you scoffed.
"i just remembered i had homework to get!" i defended myself.
"yeah, and the other time too? and the time before that? teddy, it's been two an a half weeks since the movie thing and you haven't talk to me since."
"i'm sorry. i just need some space. family stuff and all. it's been pretty hard y'know."
"oh, okay. sorry for freaking out. i understand." you said then did something i thought you'd never do.
you hugged me.
it was a quick one so i didn't have time to hug you back but i did like it. very much.
"if there's anything you want to talk about, i'll be here for you."
i smiled. "thanks, ivo. you're a great friend."
and i wish i could call you something more than a friend.
truly,
teddy.
